Title: If The Lakers want Jermaine then this is what they have to give up.

LA Lakers trade Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, Jordan Farmar, Vladamir Radanomich

The salaries match up. You have to give up alot to get a 28 year old 6 time all star.

Take a look at the 06-07 numbers...

Jermaine O'neal
19.4 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 2.4 apg, 2.6 bpg, 43.7 fg% in 69 games

Pau Gasol
20.8 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 3.4 apg, 2.1 bpg, 53.9 fg% in 59 games

They're numbers are almost even. But Gasol is younger, cheaper, a better shooter, and isn't as injury prone as JO. If I had my choice I'd go with Gasol.

Not even close? Fine, if you think JO is better, cool...But to say it's not close is unreasonable. Gasol had better numbers than JO this season.

If we're talking about in the last 5 years, JO has been better...But as of now, I don't blame those who would want Gasol over JO on the Lakers. He'd be a MUCH better triangle fit. Gasol has better post-up game and is a good passer out the post, while JO relies too much on jumpers and hangs around the perimeter too often for his own good...Gasol is also 2 years younger and came off of a better season in a tougher conference. Gasol is comparable to TD and KG after this season as well dawg...PeACe
