It was supposedly "overloaded" and supposely it was all Aaliyahs own fault ..... the guys at the airport told her that the amount she wanted to bring on the plane was too much and she would'nt listen .... i know on one deverses to die but if going to be a prat ........ she not only killed herself but 8 other people and 1 other injured ...
I'm only pissed at this because a friend of mines , uncle was killed in a plane crash a few years ago and my friend was really upset about it ....
When they investigated why it crashed they found out it was because some prat had a mobile phone and was talking on it, when everybody knows u are not supposed to be using eletronic equipment aboard an aircraft ........
One of the surviours said that the air hotesses repeately asked the guy to turn off the mobile and he would'nt, hence the plane crashed .........
If Aliyah had'nt insisted on bringing so much luggage she would still be alive today.
-
That shit is fucked up
:'(

That shit is fucked up
:'(
-
Damn... that is really fucked up
-
yeah thats really fucked up,. but u cant say 'she killed herself'
i mean, she didnt know. she was probably busy or sumthin and had to fly or whatever. i mean if u in a jet with your bagz and dude tells you its overloaded youre not gonna leave it at the airport
-
even if Aaliyah insisted on bringing all of her luggage tha pilot should have used his better judgement and never should have attempted to fly tha plane.....
-
IN THE UK, ITS A PILOTS DECISION NOT 2 FLY
I AGREE THE PILOT SHUD HAVE DECIDED AGAINST FLYIN
peace
-
thats suck :-[ but still, she was too good n too pretty n way too young to die.... it's a shame :'( i got a feeling fo her like she was somebody from my family , i was feeling her....dawm :-[
-
This aint hit me as hard as Poetics death (R.I.P bro) although it is a major waste of life, the good die young... :'(
-
How do you know she was in charge of the luggage? Thats fucked up your calling her a "prat" and you don't even have enough information.
And like y'all said, the pilot has flown the airplane enough to know what it can or can't handle but still we don't have enough detail.
Instead of pointing the finger we should be showing our sympathy for them.
-
They said she herself insisted on bringing the luggage, and that she was warned that the plane might not fly properly or whatever ... thats enough for any one with sense to know not to bring the luggage .... and if thats true then she was a prat , i am sorry that she died , no one deverses to die , but if its true , like the guy with the mobile on my friends uncles plane she got herself and 8 others killed because of her "I'm a big star and i can do what i like even if its dangerous" attitude .......
but like the guy said above it was aslo the pilots fault , he should'nt have flown the plane if he knew it was dangerous.
-
Shit, have some sympathy lee, we don't know the full story.Where'd u hear this anyways? Peeps shouldn't talk about the dead like this, regardless of who's fault it is. they should've kept it in as a sign of respect 4 her family. If it was such a major danger they never would've taken off, it's jus' common sense. You wouldn't board a plane if u knew there was some real danger, such as the plane crashing now would u lee? I know I wouldn't.
-
i know i would'nt but like the guy with the mobile phone some people think their like invincible or something ......
-
Ok, yeah, but again we don't know the full story, it could jus' b some rumour. BTW, where did u peep this story?
-
it was in the papers and the news on tv and on the radio its probably on some news websites now .......
U know how after all air accidents they carry out an invesigation .... well thats how the news got that inforamtion it was from the investigtion ......
Supposedly witnesses there said the plane "went down the runway and rose about 50 feet when it banked left and crashed into a swamp"
The engines were meant to fail because they could'nt cope with the load on the plane ..........
-
Man I Cant Belive This Shit
-
Well it seems the crash was due purely 2 an overload then. This could've been avoided through common sense. but then it's not 4 us 2 point a finger as Sikotic said. this is a pure tradegy, shit has hella shock'd me. I only found out about 4hrs ago! Been away all w/e, without radio/paper/T.V news.
-
"GLORIA KNOWLES, who works for Abaco Air Ltd. at Marsh Harbour airport, told The Detroit News, in Aaliyah’s hometown, that baggage handlers reported that the plane was overloaded with suitcases. She said that the handlers and the pilot complained about the heavy load but that the passengers insisted on taking everything with them.
Two Bahamian newspapers, The Tribune and The Freeport News, published a similar claim by a baggage handler, whom they did not quote by name. The nine people aboard the aircraft filled it to maximum capacity"
thats from a news website ...............
-
Thanx..... :)
-
So what, its still not right to call her a prat. And it wasn't all her luggage either, I know the other 8 people had luggage on the plane too. You don't even know if it was Aaliyah insisting on the pilot taking them and niether do the investigators.
Like 7O4D said, if it was a serious concern then they woulda never got on it. They had no idea that would lead to their deaths.
-
the others were her staff ....... so it was mosy likely her giving the orders .....
i mean the Bahamas is like right beside florida so she coulda just sent for another plane to pick the stuff up later ...
and like i said already if she was warned that it was dangerous but "insisted" on bringing the stuff .. then she was a prat.
-
It's totally unfair 2 the families 4 the media 2 talk about it & point blame, it's obvious nieve peeps will take it into context that it was Aaliyah's luggage = her fault. I hate that factor about the media.
-
but if u read what i copyed from the news website it says she "insisted"
-
Thats exactly what I mean by being nieve. Was the person that wrote that article present at that scene or on that plane? No. This could go on forever, it's upto you if you beleive all that you read. As none of us were there we can't actually comment on fact.
-
hold up ........ theres some new news noe from the investagers now who say wintnesses said that their was " a strange sound coming from the engines b4 the crash" .............
-
yeah the woman gloria worked at the airport said the baggage handlers said there was too much luggage but aaliyah insisted on taking it
she wanted to "cram it all in"
-
If I keep commenting i'm gonna end up contradicting myself......but all I can say is you can't jus' place blame solely on her from a statement saying she "insisted" because no-matter how big or how famous she might of been that plane should never of taken off if there was a serious source of danger.
-
All I gotta say is if you wanna plant blame on someone soooooooooo bad even tho you or no one else has no 100% accuate idea what happened then you have to blame the pilot. No matter how bad the media or you wanna blame Aalyah so you can call her a prat or anything else disrespectful it wasn't her fault. The pilot didn't have to fly it.
And if it was only her insisting then why didn't anyone else other than the pilot say they shouldn't fly it. The whole crew was probably tired and wanted to go hom not just Aaliyah.
And I only heard the "overloading" scenario was just speculation, its not concrete evidence. I have heard that they heard something wrong with the engine and it crashed which makes more sense. A airplane wouldn't just nosedive unless somethin tragic happened like the engine stopped working.
I think its another case of the media and you believing too much of what you read instead of using common sense and facts.
-
Nope, I dont think a plane can go down just because it has couple hundred pounds more weight than it should.
Tha plane itself is like tons and tons of weight, use logic 4 gods sake, plus even if it is wayyyyyyyyyyy overloaded wit some steel or some shit then dats where tha extra engines come in........
Im sure there waz some other shit goin on dat none of us know.........
-
FUCK all of you. You are all nob heads. She is dead ok stop tryin to figure out how she died and whos fault it was and just shut yer mouths. She is dead no 1 can bring her back. NO 1. No matter how much argueing over her death.
-
That fuckn suck's...
-
i just got some new information that the pilot was arguing with the passengers on the plane b4 it took off .... this argument was supposely heard by another pilot and was about the amount of things on the plane ....
i believe the pilot was stupid to fly when he knew it was overloaded ....
Aslo the stuff wasn't just "luggage" as in clothes and stuff but was equipment such as cameras and sound equipment ..........
-
Aslo the stuff wasn't just "luggage" as in clothes and stuff but was equipment such as cameras and sound equipment ..........
I didnt think you could take things like that on a plane with you.
-
u can take most things on a plane as long as they're turned off.
-
check this, from Davey D:
Did Hot 97's Star and Buckwyld go too far? That's the blazing question folks are asking after yesterday's morning show. Apparently the popular DJs who make it a point to be the epitome of 'haters' reenacted the tragic plane crash that killed Aaliyah and 8 other passengers. While talking about the incident they played a recording with people screaming and a plane crashing. Needless to say people were more than upset.
Q-Tip called into Angie Martinez's show stating that he was going to boycott them. Here on the west coast, I started to receive emails calling for their heads and a boycott of the radio station. I haven't been able to reach out to Star and Buck to find out whats what.. but according to various accounts they took the position that the plane was overloaded with baggage and hence a 'preventable' accident was caused. As far as they're concerned Aaliyah and her crew didn't listen to the warnings of the pilot and baggage handlers. As sad as this tragedy is, this was also the position the NY Post jumped on when they blasted her death with a front page headline. If you ask me, its too early and too foul to blame the victim.. But than again this sort of controversy and now subsequent exposure is what Star and Buckwyld thrive on.. The pair liken themselves to being the Black Howard Stern of radio. And as we all know Stern has crossed that line on may similar situations. If you live in the NY area hit me back and let me know what you thought about Star and Buckwyld's morning show antics..

What a bunch of fucking foo's......did anyone actually peep the show? I've never heard of them, obviously as i'm from the UK but they sound like a bunch of pathetic dicks.
-
i fuckin hate "shock jocks".. they're as bad as the tabloid press.
-
where's your source on this info? i thought the pilot was not fully trained and he was on drugs or something.
-
yeah I mean shit happens
if there wasnt no plane crash, then noone would be at fault
it could have been an accident,
jus cuz they said it would be overloaded, dont mean it actually was
