Geto Boys - Till Death Do Us Part

Don't know why, but this album is rarely or never mentioned here. And it's fuckin' GREAT.Insane production from top to bottom provided by N.O. Joe, and Big Mike & Scarface rip it apart with Bushwick holding his own too.

Overall, total package bangs hard  8)

Okay. I'll give you a reason why this album isn't a classic from top to bottom (bold applies here):

In other words: it may be an extremely nice album (I wouldn't know myself - I never was into the Geto Boys so I may have missed out), but this album surely doesn't serve as "the" established model or standard, and it doesn't have an enduring, lasting significance or worth. It's not recognised as definitive for hip-hop or gangstarap, and it's not a typical or traditional example as such either.

IMO the word classic doesn't apply here, but to call it a masterpiece perhaps would be right - I don't know 8)

That's a great point 11z, I beleive a lot more albums we call "classics" are probably more of a "masterpice"

Good distinction.

Point taken 11z.I don't think anybody could argue that as far as impact and the stuff you pointed out this album can't compete with the greats, but as far as quality goes, I'm sure it can  8)
