Title: YaBB sucks....no really it does
Post by: Hittman on August 27, 2001, 11:28:05 AM: It does though, its not really got any great features. VBulletins & Ikonboards are alot better, they have dope things and easier to use, I think we should change the board thingy.

But i aint no where near dissing the design, overseer has done wonders, infact ima mite be heloin him out with some grphixs fr the board.

VBulletin is good but it uses PHP not CGI.. YaBB uses CGI, and when the forum was started PHP wasn't very popular... and we couldnt have run VBulletin on the server at the time. if we ever lose all board data - like we nearly did at the last move I would probably use VBulletin .. although I nearly stumped up the 200 bucks for UBB a little while back.

The other thing is.. I know YaBB well now.. I know how to move it from server to server, and how to fix it... I'd rather not go through the process of learning that again.

btw.. YaBB2 is coming sometime - its gonna kick butt.

theres only one problem I have with YaBB.. and it will be fixed soonish.

ohh yeah.. and u wanna know who our hosting company is?.. they're called XNULL... and they are the people who make YaBB... we run from the same servers as the official YaBB board.
