These guys are good. Parker was ridiculous the whole series, and DUNCAN dominated the game defensively, as well as the offensive boards. Too many players can kill you with huge shots.
The SPurs are the 4th team with 4 titles, and Duncan has done something that Bird, Shaq, and Magic didn't do: Lead his team to 4 titles.
Peeps keep saying Duncan is past his prime, but dude is only 31! He is so fucking good defensively, its not even fair. Parker is only 25! Wait til dude gets a three ball............
Duncan is going to retire with 5-6 rings.........
THe Cavs were so overmatched, it wasn't even funny. The Cavs are officially the worst team to ever make the finals, both on paper and in performance. It's been good experience for LBJ, and his first finals trip came far earlier than anyone expected.
-
My nigga Horry got his 7th ring! Congratulations Spurs.
-
Horry says he will stick around next year for # 8..........greedy bastard!
The Spurs have never repeated, so you know they will do all they can to do it next year. They may have to add a younger player though.
As for Duncan, he could possibly play another 7-8 years at a HIGH level. He doesn't rely on athleticism, just methodical footwork, sound positioning, poise, and the damn glass.
This Spurs team is so well ran by management that they will add the right players for the next 5-6 years and compete for a title every year.
-
I hate the Spurs with a passion but gotta give respect when it's due, they came in and dominated everyone they faced, congrats San Antonio
-
Congrats to the Spurs... great organization, their GM did a great job overseas with TP and Ginobili.. they have the best coach in the NBA.. if Duncan can stay healthy, they'll win 2 more titles.. no team, outside Dallas, has a shot to beat them in a 7 game series..
-
Congrats to the Spurs they played extremely well parker stepped his game up and deserved the MVP trophy, also really good to see Finley win his first nba title
-

Horry is God.

Props to the Spurs, but Magic didn't lead his team to 4 titles? LMAO

teecee you obviously went too far with the comparision, homie.
My man Magic Johnson won 5 (five) NBA Titles, with 3 NBA Finals MVP throphies. And 3 Regular Season MVP thropies as well. ;)
That said, like i wrote a pair of weeks ago, i enjoy watching the Spurs cause they're a great organization, they have a great coach in Popovic (as of now i'd rather have Popovic coaching my fav team than Phil Jackson), a lot of international players, God (Horry), a personal homie of mine (Ginobili) AND - like i said - the best PF of all time. They deserved the title, so it's all good.
Oh, and i'm happy for the Cavs too. I don't give a fuck about people saying they're the worst NBA Finalists ever: Shaq's Magic lost 4-0 too. But them NBA Finals made Shaq a better player, so i'm sure those NBA Finals will make LeBron a better player. And i'm sure those ones won't be his last NBA Finals.
-
how could yall forget about the main man Manu Ginobili he is better then kobe bryant, lebron james, and even Ron Artest!
-
STOP TURNING EVERY BASKETBALL TOPIC INTO A LAKER COMPARISON!!! IT'S FUCKIN DISGUSTING!!!!
-
Fuck them. I hope they choke on their championships.
-
"francia, america, argentina" the team that can't loose i tell you
HORRY IZ GOD spread the word!
-
My bad guys, didn't mean to include Magic in there, i can admit a mistake when i make one; regardless, what Duncan and the Spurs havedone is impressive, even if i hate them. Now, they need to repeat.
Antonio: Good comparison with LBJ and Shaq's first title run; Shaq got eaten alive by Hakeem in that first finals, it was almost laughable. I remember everyone was dogging Shaq, but in reality, Hakeem was on another level at the time. It isn't always a bad thing for a player to have some disappointment early in his career.
-
First off congrat's to the Spur's on another Championship.
''the mustard's off the hot dog'' - Chick Hearn
but my favorite part about the games has been the announcing LMAO!!!
They Made the Spur's to be the Bill Russel Celtic's in every game in every second of every call....
I swear they convinced me SA went undefeated this year and won every game by blowout.
''faked him into the popcorn machine'' - Chick Hearn
Were they even the favorites to win the West?
Were they even Expected to be in the Western Conference Finals this year? (<-----The True Final's)
Again, prop's to T.Parker, Manu, Duncan, Finlay ect...
but I think may watch Basketball in mute from now on.
another season gone by, more legend's names being dragged thru the mud as if their legacy can be won/lost in one game
oh well..
''You can put this one in the refrigerator,
The door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard and the Jell-O is jiggling.'' - Chick Hearn
Danm!! I miss Chick Hearn
(they don't make them like you anymore sir)
Fuck Modern NBA announcing

No it isn't. That said, Shaq moved to L.A. to win his first title. Maybe Lebron should consider a move like that in his future (i'm talking about moving to a great franchise who knows how to win titles and who can make things easier for him) if things will not change. He will have to make a decision: be the next KG or be the next Shaq.

I think he knows that now, if he has watched a tape showing Varejao's moronic attempt to score (instead of just passing it back like he was supposed to) during the last seconds of Game 3.

You rather have Gregg Popovich coaching these Lakers? :-X
What a fucking disaster that would be...

Disaster? Man are you serious? Popovich won 4 NBA titles!! Do you hate Popovich too? :-X
The disaster is that we have a team that can't make a fucking shoot in the 4th quarter if Kobe ain't the one taking it.
And i blame the coach for that.

Popovich is a great coach. But LOL if you think he's anywhere near PJ. And LOL if you think Popovich would have made the playoffs BOTH of these past two seasons in Phil's shoes...LOOK AT HIS PERSONNELL.

It's a good staff. Good for him and the Spurs. Well, Phil has always had a good staff around him too, man (Tex Winter?). It's not a fault.
-
The point is, Phil has done the max with this Laker roster...Let me ask, do you think Greg Popovich woulda' gotten these Lakers into the playoffs in the past 2 years?

I don't have the magic ball, man. I don't know. Anyway keep in mind Phil is about to be in his 8th season in L.A.
I mean he already have a great staff around him, there are people who already knows triangle (Kobe, Walton, Cook)..
Those Lakers ain't a good roster for Greg Popovich's playbook. He should have had the chance to make minor adjustments and to choose a pair of his fav players.
Example if we had Bowen, Vaughn, Elson.... who already knows how Popovich works.. And Duncan.. (a superstar who knows how Popovich works)....
Anyway, talking about Popovich's personnel, the coach of Cleveland and the one of Dallas are coaches "made" by Popovich. And they reached the NBA Finals in the last 2 years.
-
^^Look at who you named as the players who know the triangle...Luke and Cook.......Now compare that to Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli, and there is your answer for why Popovich has had an easier time than PJ in the past couple years. Stil PJ >>>>> Popovich...PeACe

Man Popovich doesn't need players who knows how to play triangle. It's easier. He built the team around Duncan, Bowen and Horry. And he added Tony Parker and Ginobili, two extremely talentuous players. Phil built the team around Kobe and Phil, and the triangle. And he have role players like Walton and Cook. To make a dynasty using the triangle is harder.

You're missing the point. Popovich has the pieces he needs...Phil doesn't. That's what it comes down to...NOT Popovich being a better coach, like you made it seem...PeACe

both are great coaches no doubt but
Phil Jackson>>>>Greg Popovich

Hey, i've never said Popovich is a better coach than Phil Jackson!!! You guys don't get me wrong! I've said RIGHT NOW i'd rather have Popovich. It's a personal opinion.
It's obvious Phil Jackson > Greg Popovich.

I'll never argue against Phil Jackson as a coach, because success speaks louder than anything else. However, the argument you make about Phil not needing the pieces to win is BULLSHIT.
What has Phil Jackson won without: a) the best player ever
b) the most dominant center ever
c) a dude that COULD be the 2nd coming of Jordan if he had a clue
And don't give me any of this first round bullshit. When you speak of WINNING, you gotta AT LEAST be talkinf a couple of rounds. You yourself thought the Lakers were fine this year, even had a shot at the title, yet they tanked at the end of the year, and thensucked in the playoffs! So, what the fuck has Phil won without a stacked team?

also is sad to hear that the last good announcer left in all of sports, Vin Scully, will be gone after next season :-\

What the fuck has ANY coach won that mattered without some great pieces? That's the point I'm making...Phil has been doing the max with the pieces he's been given. I doubt if Popovich gets these Lakers in the playoffs 2 years straight.
