Man Finds Wallet He Lost 43 Years Ago (http://cbs2.com/local/local_story_170142610.html)
(AP) EL CENTRO, Calif. Epigmenio Sanchez lost his wallet in 1964. He got it back 43 years later, complete with old charge cards and dusty photographs. Construction workers renovating an El Centro movie theater discovered the billfold jammed between the metal casings of a radiator.
Between the folds of crumbling brown leather were fragments of the 70-year-old Brawley resident's past: a few family photos, old pay stubs and a couple of department store charge cards he hadn't seen for more than 40 years. Also there: his birth certificate, which Sanchez carried when he went to Mexico to prove he was a U.S. citizen.
The only thing not in the wallet was money but Sanchez says he can't remember whether he had any cash on him when the wallet went missing at the Crest Theater.
He and his wife, Tillie, used to drop their three children at a relative's house before going to the movies for the day.
The theater, vacant for years, is being converted into a concert venue. Workers found the wallet after sawing apart a radiator to lift it out.
Sanchez says the found wallet "brings back good memories."
