West coast veteran Kam is preparing a new album titled Self & Kind, which will feature guest appearances from some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop.
The politically charged Kam made his debut on the classic single "Every Single Weekend," taken from Boyz-N-the-Hood soundtrack.
He was also once signed to his Lench Mob Records, an independent label owned by his cousin, Ice Cube.
According to representatives for Kam, Self & Kind will feature guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, The Game, Akon, Tyrese and others.
Production on the album is handled by West coast super producers Dr. Dre, DJ Pooh, Sirx Jinx and Battlecat.
Kam was originally affiliated with Ice Cube's Lynch Mob collective.
He released three albums: Neva Again (1993), Made in America (1995) and Kamnesia (2001).
He's affiliated with a new group of rappers assembled by Snoop Dogg named The Warzone, which also features group members Goldie Loc and M.C. Eiht.
Kam recently released a new single titled Dirty West, which features his brother, Yung Bruh.
Self & Kind is due in stores later this year.

Yeah, I rather get a new Kam album than a Warzone one any day.
-
They can't be cousins, DJ Pooh introduced Kam to Ice Cube.
Can't wait for the album but it's just like Detox and them Crooked I albums.. I'm tired of waiting.
-
This isn't really new news, Self and Kind has been coming out for years now.
-
I suspect they confused Del the Funkee Homosapien with Kam, for some reason. Perhaps because both were Lench Mob affiliated?
-
sound's made up too me

Damn I'm lovin the line-up. Hopefully this drops sometime soon.

Dj Pooh's handling some of the production??
Shiiit when is this dropping???

I wonder if Kam is going to use that Dre beat Murder These Murderers. That beat is too cold just to leave without doing something on it. Hell do a Warzone song to it.
-
I posted this about 6 months ago...
let's see if it actually drops
-
Hope BattleCat gets more than just one or two songs on this, would be dope if they had a track labeled 'Still Trust Nobody', similar to the one on 'Made in America'
-
is this still coming out on Guerrilla Funk? the producer and guest features list looks dope.
