When I first heard that dogg pound song it was bacc in late '94 and I remember laughin hearin Daz sayin "fucc BG Knocc Out and every nigga down wit 'em". Kurupt Tryin' to imagine the Pound and Ruthless in one room. Studio gangstas at their best. Only few weeks later I got ahold of the Eazy-E song and the messages are much more direct. No assumptions. "So what up Dogg Pound Crip..u wanna scrap?..."..."No I'd take out Suge and stomp down the row"...."Now diggity diggity Daz I biggidy biggidy blast don't rhyme I smoke that azz"... "Now Kurupt dont even set trip yellin Long Beach six o, blood and puppy pound crip?!?!?"..."So come wit it fool and test dat lucc and I beat dat ass..now call me Kurupt!"...."I'll smoke all you fools even yer booboo and your baby". Nigga buried the pound.

so true
classic diss song
Eazy predicted the future, the row got stomped down, not by him thou, and he told all of them the real at the end of the songs
sorta like a verbal chin check

I LOVE both of these tracks, and all respect to Eazy, but didn't Ruthless get taken out first?
-
I like the DPG version better.
-

true
but 2 different things, ruthless got taken out cus E was gone, he was Ruthless, without him, now its just a name, it will never be the same Ruthless it once used to be, its still alive and kickin it, look at bone thugs for example, but this shit done deal now
death row got taken out cus its leader suge knight, made alot of bad choices, fucked over alot of people and now hes blacklisted from the game, broke has a joke, no more real friends out there.
Ruthless, i hope one day the saga continues, hopefully Lil Eazy E can do something with it if he can ever get to it
the name alone still has its presence in Hip Hop

I heard Eazy'z version about 3 years after i heard the Dogg Pounds, n i'd have 2 say Eazy's was much better, it was more of an eery direct song, DPG's sounded more commercial 2 me.
-
musically i like DPG's version a lot better, but i enjoy them both. i've always liked dirty red and i wish he appeared on more songs back in the day.
-
I like the DPG version better.
-
Could someone please up both these tracks? ;D
-
Both are classic, but being the DPG fan that i am, i'ma have go with Tha Dogg Pound 8)
-
easily tha dogg pound
-
I luv Tha Dogg Pound song, but Eazy's version is sooo crazy either... I can't choose one of them...

Musically speaking, 2 kinda different songs:
Dogg Pounds was like a party track, that beat was upbeat with the riding synth and bass was straight fire.
Eazy's, musically, was kinda like a Parody of Murda Was Tha Case... if you listen closley to can hear that Eazy's producer replayed and slightly alterd the synth and straight replayed or reprogrammed the drums from Murda Was The Case.
In retorspect, I think the Eazy version is a lot harder, it's one of my all time diss songs.
But if you asked me in like 96, I prolly would have said the DPG version.
Both are SLAMMIN though
-
One is more bumping for the summetime afternoo type vibe.
The other when youre pissed off or late at night cruising.
I like em both
-
eazy's version forsure. classic. dirty red comes nice too
-
Production wise DPG as for the dissing Eazy str8 up cursed them niggas.
-
eazy's was nicer. shit was gangsta as hell.

i like them both alot for different reasons, but if you ask who made the better diss...eazy did.
as far as Dirty Red goes...anyone have any solo albums/mixtapes of his??? or any info about them,

As a dis, Eazy's track was a lot harder and a lot 'realer' - he said shit that was true but that a lot of people didn't appreciate for years after.
As a song, Tha Pound's track is far tighter. Production, mixing, emceeing - all better on Daz and Kurupt's than Eazy's track.

That's for sure, great observation. Eazy, ironically, ended up speaking the truth...
