Personally i think the best on the West right now is The Game, cause he oviously is a big part of the west diispite all the haters , believe it or not he is, also Snoop is runnin the West, basically its just them 2 i cant think of anyone else really on top RIGHT NOW. As far as up and coming id have to say G Malone, Lil Eazy, Jay Rock, Spider Loc, Ya Boy, Tech, and a few others. What you think?

Game is gonna sell because he is on a major label and has the best producers making his shit. does that mean he is the best? Maybe, but imo, Ya Boy, and Crooked are better.

If we're talking best MC..not highest selling, or best lyricist, or freshest face, but simply best MC....it's still Cube by a whole goddamm galaxy. Cmon people...you're going to compare Cube and Game...even now? When these rappers start having 1/4th the substance as tracks like Ni**a Trap or Growin Up they'll be in contention.

Bishop Lamont imo, never could get into crooked i or ya boy and game to me always seems to rap about the same shit (6-4's/impalas/blood this crip that) and name drops to death....its only recently that hes slowed down on the name dropping.

Overall i would say Game. He's had success, he's shown he has talent on the mic with some of the mixtapes and guest appearences, and production wise his records are always sicc. But the name dropping and recycled themes can overshadow his skills.
Snoop, Tha Dogg Pound, E-40, Too Short, Ice Cube, and some of the other vets still put it down, but wheter its quality shit or as good as it used to be can be disputed.
Im most excited about the up and comers. Omar Cruz has put out quality shit with all of his mixtapes. Sicc lyrics and production and he has an album on the way.
Bishop Lamont is another cat that has big potential. Nigger Noize was nice. He showed he's not
another gangsta rapper. Plus he's under the tutelage of Dr. Dre which will make him and his music better.
Ya Boy is viscious on the mic and could blow up. I enjoyed Rookie of the Year and his most recent mixtape.
I haven't heard much of Glasses Malone but what i did hear i liked. And i think he got signed to a big contract by Sony. So theres another one. Im sure there's some others but that's all i can think of right now.
And of course there's a lot of underground cats who always put out quality shit. Andre Nickatina is one of my favorites. He always brings some fresh sometimes unconventioanal shit, but always tight.
Brotha Lynch is always sicc. He dosen't have his old legendary flow(season of da sicc) but he's good nonetheless, his themes can be pretty dark but that, and his flow makes him who he is.
X-Raided is one of the best lyricists on the west, period. His situation prohibits him from releasing shit as often as he would like or he would be bigger.
Crooked I. He's very good but he has to release a damn album. He's skilled enough to be in the big leagues, but he has to prove it by playing in them. His sales might not be good, but quality dope shit on a major level is what most people want from the Crooked Letter I.

Now you're a cool dude but no way a dude like Game or Spider is more lyrical then Ras Kass. Ras Kass is mad lyrical reppin' the west man, come on go listen to Soul On Ice or Rasassination and listen for yourself.
Game is commercial, his affiliation with G-Unit and the beef following have made him be put in the spotlights, being able to launch a (relative) successful new album (Doctors Advocate) but no matter how much you like his music, i dont think anyone can say hes lyrical or good at freestyling and stuff. He's just good in writing songs, and deserves the credits for this.
As far as Spider, i have yet to see him drop his album, i dont care about no mixtape anymore, an album or nothing, let him prove himself.
And having no name applies more to Spider Loc then Ras Kass. I'm sure a lotta hiphop heads know Ras, he's known in the underground, Spider on the other hand has been on Death Row for what? 3 or 4 years? Now he's with G-Unit but still hasn't dropped anything.
Ras Kass is not the best of the west, but he comes close to the top.

And what is "best" anyways? Best has to do with music, with skills, with flow etc. Snoop don't have this (anymore) and Game neither. They are bosses of the west, nobody can go round them when doing business, well at least Snoop is, Game still has to prove a lotta things, but you get the point i hope.
The most popular/mainstream artists don't have to be the best, those are 2 different things.

Kurupt right now i think he's just a little sloppy with the lyrics, he can do better, if he did upgrade some lyrics and some flows on some of his songs it would sound way better and he would belong to the top spitters of the west.
