Look at this...

well it doesn't mean that he wants to leave the pistons. he can make more money that way or at least leave options open. the MLE really should not be enough for him. I dont see him leaving the pistons unless he can pull a ben wallace and get overpaid like a motherfucker. but for a PG that is much harder to do.
-
It's the usual move, players opt out and study different offers .... he may stay with the pistons, though it seems to be the beginning of the end for this team.. they beat themselves 2 years in a row in the ECF, being overconfident is one of the reasons of these losses.

PG Chauncey Billups
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Ron Artest
PF Kevin Garnett
C Chris Mihm
...dreams can come true. :-\
-
^LOL. If only...
-
Lamar + Bynum + 19th for Garnett
Kwame + Luke for Artest
MLE for Chauncey Billups
it's possible...LOL.
-
one of my favorite players. i think i heard Milwaukee and Memphis had a lot of interest in him.
i dont know nobody that would proly want to play in those place though... lol
-
Chauncey will re-sign with the pistons. this is the reason the pistons didn't match the offer for ben wallace so they had some $$$ to sign billups. this is joe dumars biggest offseason priority
-
No way in hell Billups is going to take the MLE. He's been waiting for the big payout his entire career.
The 6-foot-3, 202-pound All-Star has said he would prefer to stay with Detroit and expects to be back if the team can match the best deal he can find from another team.

I bet he'd still make more money in LA if he took an MLE pay-cut...
-
^^ why would he leave detroit to play with a non contending team in the west?

I doubt it. But if it's true, then I still don't see it happening. Most NBA players only care about the guaranteed money, not the potential money. He'll probably command $50 million over 4 or 5 years.

LOL@thinking Billups on the Lakers doesn't put them in contention.

He'll be very lucky to make that...I see him getting around 8 mill a year. I'd rather play in LA for 5 mill a year...PeACe

Too bad Chauncy isn't a Laker fan. ;D Despite the number of PG's becomeing free agents, I think he'll get over paid. Proabably 45 over 5
