its not tha beats (tha newer stuff is FINALLY comin' along), its not bcuz Snoop/Dre aint on they records, its not bcuz Pac dead, its not bcuz it aint DeathRow puttin it out... it's bcuz of the CONSTANT this West Coast- we bloods we crips shit (yes i do believe in rep where u from, but not on every song, especially singles). not every1 can bump this is the west coast-we got tha best smoke songs... people want somethin they can feel and relate 2 not lets throw our dubbs up music. all tha talk of West this West that goes and niggaz will finally git in rotation or atleast honorable mentions....
or... they (west coast) just dont give a fuck in general about goin mainstream or sellin records...

To me what actually kills the west is all the people criticizing the west; hot new stuffs are coming out, I am not really aware of what is out in the East but on the West there is a lot of cool songs comming up. For example some days ago Mykestro dropped his California Love, and XL Middleton is dropping his new tapes in August... Big names in the West are also doing their thang... I don't know at which point you consider the left coast "killed"...
About being mainstream it's maybe because West Coast is more gangster with gang references and all that and their songs have to be cut more...

Westcoast rappers need to start making singles of other things then that. Start talking about some of the issues going on right now.

i aint sayin tha west is "killed" but as fans we gota critisize tha music, even tho some people just flat out hate, but if 12/17 is just talkin bout West this, West West, it looses tha intrests of people, i aint never stepped a day on California concrete (will b in a couple months tho 8)) so if u constantly say "west coast" then i cant really feel u on da 100... u neva really hear rappers talkin bout they state constantly on every record, not even NY or ATL. i love da west coast music scene (some of it) but 2many throw ya dubbs up songs, thats wat killed it in tha 1st place 91-99 u heard em say bloods/crips, w's, westside but not like u hear 2day.

I mean that is a part of it, but there are a hundred reasons why the West has not been back...even though we were supposed to come back STRONG twice, and had 5-6 other times people said "______ is gonna help bring us back".

I wasn't criticizing you, I just said that I don't understand why west coast rap is kind of casted away from massive airplay because a lot of the production is excellent, and about the California, throwing up the dubbs, Bs and Cs themes, in each kind of rap there are recurrent themes; for example the main theme in Southern Rap is party and in NYC it's more about the social fight...
And also of course I was criticizing the haters that are always speaking about the lack of unity on the West Coast and at the same time talking shit about the rappers they don't like. I.e the Quick & Mc Eiht's groupies that are still divided over a feud that ended around 10 years ago...
But somewhat this is not my matter, I am not a gangbanger, I am not even in the gangsta mentality, to become a wigga scares me! But I feel this music and moreover I love California where I feel at home. So I am just expressing my opinion which value is simply the expression of one's thoughs...

No 1 person is goin 2 bring a whole coast back (unless Pac or Biggie rise from tha graves)... We need some acts that have absolutely nothing to do with gangsta rap to have some exposure and success to show that the west is not just about gang banging all the time. Black Eyed Peas would be a example of that, but most forget they are a west coast act. I think Bishop Lamont's success is crucial for the west. 06 was a good year with Snoop, Game, Cube and 40 putting up good numbers so a nice contrast to that would be Bishop.

Anyways, the new West needs 2 jump on tha bang wagon with some Original shit instead of tha same old this is WestCoast shit, then EVERY coast (except 4 maybe tha mid-west) would b on instead of just tha East and South.

i disagree 2, tha music bein put out is SPECIFICALLY for tha west coast and noone else. 10 out of 13 trax are talkin bout tha west coast. then muthafuckaz wonder why they dont sell that much, if u gonna do it, do it big not just some album tha niggaz in ya hood gona bump, make music so ALL tha niggaz in EVERY hood can bump from Cali 2 Boston 2 Texas. all tha shit goin on in tha west and all they can say is throw ya dubs up, shit... look at Eastwood's new shit, he even got ANOTHER track dedicated 2 tha west, it gits sick hearin an artist wit a bomb ass flow just keep talkin on some westcoast shit.
