Props Man!
Lets see what kinda sound Jinx n Frost cooked up in '07.
-
Thanks dude... glad you were feelin it...
-
Kid Frost? LMAO. Dude is about 43... Horrible. Fuckin' old cats just don't know when to quit.
-
If that is how you feel, then that's how you feel.... Personally, I don't believe that there is an age limit to making music. I thought the track rocked.... Was it the best shit in the world? Naw... but it rocked, even more so than some stuff coming out today.
-
There should be a time in an older dudes life where he realizes hes not a youngster anymore. I dont want to hear 35+ cats talking the same shit they talked about damn near 15 years ago. This is a young mans game...
-
The Police, the Stones and other rock groups still sing the same songs.... its just music and a person singing a song... the guy is talking about having a good time. people can have a good time at any age...
if you mean the game as in selling platinum records and all of that, ok..... but a person can still make music because they enjoy to....
-
I don't believe in age limit... If you're good, you're good, end of story...
-
I don't believe in age limit... If you're good, you're good, end of story...
And this song proves it.
Sir Jinx reminds me of Talib Kweli.
-
I don't believe in age limit... If you're good, you're good, end of story...
exactly. fuck ages....that dont matter...its all about how good and the music is.

Yeah I agree.
-
"Fuck Ages" is why the West is still stagnant... Oh well... I guess I'll just have to hear people whine and bitch that the West isn't blowing up for more years. :-X
-
just because a guy decides to make a track with an old friend for a mixtape? it ain't that deep...and Frost isn't holding anybody back or taking anybody's shine... There's lots of youngsters making dope music in the West... one older artist doing a mixtape track isn't going to stop all of that...
-
Look over at New York, LL wants to put out a new record, he has to tap a younger cat to get put back on (50 Cent). Look at Down South, Bun B & Pimp C could still be trying to rock with old South cats on a regular, but instead they support the young cats and put on Boosie, Webbie etc. and record with T.I., Mike Jones, Paul Wall etc. keeping themselves fresh. But these old cats on the West just stay old. Its boring. They're not staying fresh.
Only a few people on the West can say they're fresh, that's Snoop & E-40. They don't keep that same "I'm old school so I can make that music forever" steez that a lot of these old cats are on. Fuck old rappers in 2007...
-
who says that he's out to do any of that? people can still make music just because they love to and for anybody that enjoys it... it doesn't always have to be about the rap game as how you perceive it... there is more than one perspective, or the perspective of just selling units. Hip hop dies when we put it in a box and make up all of these so-called rules for it.... people young and old can make music...
-
Anything dies if it doesn't move on from the same old bullshit. The NBA would be boring if it didn't have young blood like LeBron James making it a new game. The South would've died if it still allowed its old ass rappers to be relevant without supporting the new young rappers first. Straight up... The West will stay stagnant until people get this through their heads...
-

i'd figure u'd be used it by now since thats what u've been about for several years...its cool...i'm used to ur bitching and moaning about the old west not dying and old west cats not retiring...

Not really.... because you can have "both".... just as a young Magic Johnson played against an older Dr. J or with an older Kareem Abdul Jabbar... as well as newer players today... not only that though, you are talking about physical limitations... Music is all about expression and it needs no age limit to do so... and Rap is music. Just as Paul McCartney can make a new album that hits the top of the charts along with some of the newer rock stars of today... that's called a balance...They don't have the "Logan's Run" type of thinking (the movie where society kills off anybody over 30, with no conscious, until of course it's their turn to turn 30 which then becomes their problem)....
Now...just so you know...since you bring up the supporting of young artists.... this song is on a CD where there are more new artists than old. This track just happens to have two old friends teaming up...I hardly doubt that will have any type of stagnantation on a entire coast

Dangerous Crew... LMAO. You're the exact person I'm talking about.
Of course old and new can intermingle, but the old has to realize when its time to call it quits. Just like an old Magic realized it was his time to step down to bring in the new era of the Lakers. Most of these old cats refuse to let go and at the same time, they refuse to help out the new cats. Fuck getting hyped about some Kid Frost shit when you got cats like Omar Cruz and Sick Jacken on the scene.
Listen to the shit that "Kid" Frost is spitting, I don't need to hear some dude in his 40s on some street shit. That's played.

Then turn it off. No one is forcing you to listen to the song.

Number 1, how in the hell is a Kid Frost track going to take away from what Omar and Sick Jacken are doing? It's not like he's taking any shine away. There is room for everybody.
Number 2, Basketball has physical limitations... Music is an expression which doesn't have any physical limitations, meaning that there is no need to "retire" unless the individual feels the desire to do so for whatever reason.
Why should people give up doing whatever makes them happy? Just to appease you? People should do in life whatever makes them happy, even if that includes making music at whatever age they are.

exactly just avoid that music...im sure no one be putting all the shit up in his face force feeding him to listen to it...i support new cats too! but these dudes like omar cruz aint heard of where i live....i listen to northern new cats like ya boy, clyde carson, big rich, dem hoodstarz, turf talk, etc.

SGV is speakin the truth 8)
-
No offense to SGV but he's sounding like a hating bitch. I don't like Kid Frost at all but you don't hear me preaching about him retiring.

I AGREE TO A POINT IF YO WANNA USE SPORTS AS AN EXAMPLE LOOK AT ALL THESE YOUNG BUCKS USING PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS, PUMPING THEIR BODIES FULL OF ROIDS & STILL CANT CATCH UP TO RECORDS SET BY OUT OF SHAPE OLD GEEZERS MANY MOONS AGO, RESPECT THE OGS IN THE GAME CUZ WITHOUT THEM THERE WOULD BE NO GAME YA DUMMY! THATS LIKE SAYING I LIKE A - ROD BUT FUCK BABE RUTH, OR LE BRON JAMES IS THE SHIT, BUT FUCK MICHAEL JORDAN, DONT BE STOOPID!

Number 1, Frost doesnt warrant any shine.
Number 2, If you're still rapping about the same shit you rapped about 20 years ago, something is wrong. Either you're faking the funk and bullshitting the listeners or you never did shit with your life.
exactly just avoid that music...im sure no one be putting all the shit up in his face force feeding him to listen to it...i support new cats too! but these dudes like omar cruz aint heard of where i live....i listen to northern new cats like ya boy, clyde carson, big rich, dem hoodstarz, turf talk, etc.
You just proved my point. The fact that a cat like Omar Cruz isn't known around your parts is because people are stuck on reporting about old ass rappers, instead of younger cats who truely deserve the shine at this point. If San Quinn didn't co sign cats like Big Rich and Ya Boy or if E-40 didn't put on Turfy, would cats really care? Of course not. But thanks to them, they were able to put on a new generation, all the while re-inventing themselves.
No offense to SGV but he's sounding like a hating bitch. I don't like Kid Frost at all but you don't hear me preaching about him retiring.
Are you sad that I think Dangerous Crew is washed up and doesn't mean shit in today's Hip Hop world? Probably...

Im not talking talent: I'm talking about being relevent. If Baseball fans were still talking about Babe Ruth instead of talking about Alex Rodriguez, Baseball would've never moved on. It would have stayed stagnant. But by supporting the new generation, the game stays alive...
-
number 1, if he is so irrelevant, why go in to such huff about it all? this is probably the first Frost update that I have done compared to the many that I have done on Cruz.
number 2, its all entertainment whether someone has been rapping 1 year or 20. afterall, there are veteranos older than Frost that still do stuff, so to me its not that unbelievable, but I rarely believe anybody's stuff because i view it as entertainment first....
