I've wanted to say this for a while now but I couldn't, but now I'ma say it. Some peeps may jump at me for this but fuck it, Fredwreck's production style has mutated to that of Dre's on "Space Boogie" in my opinion. On about 5 of the songs that are laced by Fred you here dre's signature keys & other elements that Dre uses today. Tracks like "The Hardest Muthafucka," "Bring Back That G Shit," "Lay It On Back" & "Space Boogie" could be mistaken for that of Dre. Fredwreck now uses the same keys & guitar rifts as Dre.
In his previous songs like "Curious" & "Who Ride Wit Us" was when he had his own sound. Now I think he's str8 up biting D-R-E. I hate to trip but I do think the beats he did are tight, but it ain't his style. Fredwreck should go back to his old bouncy style to the beats he had on "Pleezbaleevit!" I don't know if it's flat out influence or what but it's better to have a sound of yo own...HOLLA @ ME.
-
There's no question Fred is bitting Dre's style... but i think it's a good thing because personally i like Fred's new style of beats rather then his work on Doggy's Angels
-
I like his shit too, guess I can't really hate cause thats the influence Dre has. The same shit happened after "The Chronic" dropped...every West Coast song sounded like a Dre beat.
-
fredwreck is tight.. i'm really feeling the work he did on "hardest motherfuckaz"
-
Incognito damn thats a name i havent heard in a while...Where the hell were you..Anyway when i first heard the space boogie songs I thought Dre produced them..Then i read in the booklet and them shoutin it out in the songs that it was fred wreck.
-
It really doesnt matter to me, as long as the beat is dope...
-
i can tell the difference becuase fredwrecks beats arn't mixed as well as a dre track the layers are a little skiwhampes but the instruments are familiar
but i ain't trippin' cuz it's just the chronic all over again alot of daz's beats are starting to sound like dre's now too
-
Is Fred biting Dre's srtyle? Yes. Is that a good thing? Yes, because he is outshining Dre at his own style. Fred's work on Space Boogie was alot better than anything Dre has done in the last couple of years. Dre's beats all sound the same and are boring as hell.
-
when we were first talkin bout this stuff there was an article on a site that claimed Fred Wreck was a Ghost Producer on 2001...
not a small site either
-
^^^ yeh it said that in the source too
-
Yeah, he is dope, an' it might seem like he's bitting Dre's style but I mean it's flattering 4 Dre, well, it should b flattering, him having all this influence on production styles an' shit.

yeah and nelly is a better lyracist than xzibit...
-
Take a look at the credits; Dre lends one of his guitarists, Sean Cruse to Fredwreck. Cruse played guitar on most of the trcks on "2001."
-
Fred did work with Dre alot on 2001....He said it a source article awhile back...Anyway y'all shouldn't trip cause every Fred Wreck beat on Space Boogie was dope...
-
im sure Dre doesnt mind Fred using his style cause like someone said before the whole WEST copied Dre's style when The Chronic dropped...and Fred's production is not better than Dre's so called "sound the same" and boring beats...
-
fuck Dr. Dre. "The whole west was sounding like Dre after the chronic"... shit Cold187Um was doing that layered G-Funk before Dre. And Dre's tracks have really changed over the years, i liked him much more when he was sampling. Fred Wreck is doing Dre's style way better than Dre right now. And i'm glad he is... at least he's working that g-funk Westcoast shit with WESTCOAST artists, not spreading Bullshit everywhere else like Dre is (Mary J, Busta??)
I liked when Daz was sounding like Dre, i hope he goes back to that style
-

i agree with you on that!
-
Hell Yeah, He is heavily infuenced by Dre. BUT THAT"S GOOD CAUSE WE NEED MORE THEN JUST ONE TOP NOTCH WESTCOAST PRODUCERs. I helle feel "ON SITE' track man. that shit is fuckin dope. I'm pretty sure he's talking about them same fools as CALLIN OUT NAMES. he just don't need to mention their names cause everyone knows who he is talkin about.
FredWreck shit on EASTSIDAZ was tight too.
You know what we need is a NEW DOGG POUND cd With productions from DAZ and FREDWRECK with collabo's with Xzibit, natedoog, warren g. Dub C , Eastsidaz And even Snoop and Dre , why da fuck not?
Man i don't know why DAZ don't wanna fuck with those niggaz no mo. he just wants to everything now all solo. FUCKIN BASTARD
-
Yeah he is borrowing Fred's style. Dre is too much of a perfectionist and I am tired of waiting for his shit to come out so Fred is the next best thing.
-

um actually dr. dre groomed big hutch into the producer he was back in the day
and you hating on dre for doing tracks with peeps outside of the west is STRAAAAAAAAAAAAAIGHT ignorant...every one dre works with represent the same thing as EVERY one in the industry which is MUSIC
i swear to god people who coast trip are the gayest people on earth
and theres nothing fred wreck does that is "g-funk" the last true blue "g-funk" song i heard was Daz's R.A.W...
-
i still think that daz produced all them classics on deathrow. im sure dre had somethin to do wit em but i think that daz was the one behind the boards. as a matter of fact i know daz waz the one behind all those jointz. da chronic yep, doggystyle yep, and u know daz was writtin all over that dpg. its just hard for me to believe that dre produced those songs because his sound is WAY different and daz beats still sound like all da deathrow classics that they said dre was producin. so i dont know.

Thanks man, I have been saying that same thing on this board for months.
But these Dre dicc riders will never admit the truth.
-
The only thing different between Fredwreck and Dre is that Dre uses a lot more bass than Fredwreck, and Dre tracks are mixed better...Even though Fredwreck is tight, and "The Hardest Muthafuckaz" sounds exactly like a Dre beat, he still has some work to do to sound identicle to Dre...
-
yeah NIK I know.Plus Dre`s much moore laid back on the production tip.For instance u hear alot of "tv game style sounds" on FredWreck, and It almost sounds like Fredwreck gets too exited behind the boards.
And when I say laid back I`m not meaning that Dre sounds slow on the boards. It just much moore comfortable to listen to a Dre beat.
-
who gives a fuk if fredwreck sounds like dre dat means dat we have more good music to listen to like hardest muthafukaz etc so dats a good thing.
and y r u lot hating on dre cuz he produced for mary j blige nothing rong with dat
-

you obviously don't own any NWA albums becuase dre's style was the same 90-95 before and after he knew daz, dre taught daz and warren g EVERY THING he knows about producing that's why daz sounds like dre....and the reason why dre's style is different becuase he's an inovator whose expanding his music...daz is a good producer but he lacks diversity he can only duplicate what dre has taught him
-

true peep the song "Always into Somethin" on Niggaz4Life...it has that synth sound and its str8 g-funk...
-
hey Alex Wreck, have you forgotten about NWA. that was before cold187um's shit, and dre's workin with other artists cause of the $$$ and cause hes not a dumbass and only stay with the West, and hate on the east, that would be bullshit if he did that.
and fred wreck isnt workin with the east cause they dont want to work with him but if the east did want some beats from him i bet you anything he would do'em. so check yo self before you start talkin shit
-
i know i've said this alot here latly but it's obvious alex only owns 6 or 7 albums
-
like i said thats just my opinion. but i would rather listen to a daz beat right now than a dre beat. thats just me though. dre dont keep it gangsta enough for me.
-
dre dont keep it gangsta enough for me.
Well Dre is 35 and you can't blame a musician who don't want to do the same shit again and again...That's why i lost my respect for Primo (i still love him though)
-
man its not even worth trying to give these idiots info, cause they just ignore it and say whtever they said before, its like we have no effect on em , or they dont even read the posts
-
I think y'all got it twisted a lil bout Fredwreck havin helped out on "2001." I read it like this in a recent interview, Fredwreck got a chance to show off some beats on King Tee's album, "Thy Kingdom Come" but the ones he made didn't make it onto the bootlegged version. So, Fredwreck didn't make the final cut. Fast forward to '99 where Dre again asks Fredwreck to show him some stuff that may be used for "2001." Once again none of his work makes "2001."
