Start with the "Gods" of Classical; Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Brahms, Vivaldi, Chopin, Rachmaninov. Can't go wrong with any of these guys.

Props, eclecticism is good!

I personally don't really listen to any classical music (unless you're going to tag Gheorge Zamfir's panflute music as classical) but I'm really down with third stream (fusion of jazz and classical). Keep it up though!

Dre is over rated, as much as I love the Chronic, most of it was written by P-Funk members.

Also you really can't compare 2 albums to 100+ symphonies and whatever else Mozart & Beethoven wrote.

Maybe if Beethoven & Mozart had access to all this hi-tech equipment that Dre has, then it'd be a fair debate, but that's like comparing apples to oranges, don't get it twisted.

I don't know about that. They wrote out their shit like the notes and everything. I don't know if Dre does the same (probably not)

My point exactly.  Dre has access to technology that wasn't even dreamed of back in the days of Mozart & Beethoven.  2 completely different eras and different methods of composing.

^^ Co-sign.

That's right.   Only classical I ever really liked is Pachebel's Canon and Macho Man's theme song when he'd come into the ring back in the late 80's.

Anyway, "classical" to me is Rakim and Eric B.

So it would make more sense for me to believe in a man like Jesus who took a piss and took a shit a few times a day then the All-Powerful God that created him?

You don't believe in taking a piss and shitting? Do you even believe in your own existance, or is "the All-Powerful God" the only thing really in existance, (perhaps because there's no proof of him ever taking a dump)?

Hahaaha, me too. When I took a music appreciation class 2 yrs ago it got me interested to different styles of music. I especially liked baroque music with harpsichords. and if u like piano u should definitely check out some Chopin shit.

Dope! My All Time Favorite composer is George Gershwin, even though most of his music is jazz or jazz-like.

Dre is way better than Beethoven. I mean I personally would want the talent of stealing old melodies or taking melodies from my musicians and then looping them over and over again, rather than be able to write symphonies from scratch based sloely on musical theiry and never being able to hear them but knowing exactly what they sound like.

If music are movies then Beethoven is like Stanley Kubrick. Dr Dre is the guy that edited the trailer for Transformers. Some people like full feature visual masterpieces. Some people like to see a 2 minute series of clips and say "oh cool, I wanna see that".
