Title: Your favorite Battlecat beat?
Post by: Mr_Loc on July 19, 2001, 11:10:59 AM
BC has been dropping heater after heater recently, but what do you think is his best beat to date?

personally i think Loud & Clear from Xzibits cd, the sounds on that are unlike anything ive heard, he got samples of singing monks on there, tight synths, nice percussion. its a perfect beat IMO

I've always felt his production on "We Can Freak It"

from Kurupt but I got's to go wit "G'd Up" also, that

shit was some real heavy shit from

Battlecat. "ILUVIT" from "Duces N' Trayz..." is a phat

bit of contemporary production from him though.

I gotta agree with Loc on Loud & Clear. That was my favorite track on Restless and the beat was just amazing.

i luv it is tight
just clownin'
we can freak it
step up
dollars drank and dank

i dunno though some of his beats are really fucking tight  a fair amount of them sound cheezy becuase he uses a fucked up drum machine and uses cheap bass lines

I agree with alot of the ones you guys named:

"Get Your Walk On" - Xzibit

"Loud & Clear" - Xzibit

"Just Clownin'" - WC (It's kinda weird but I BARELY found out he produced this song Yesterday! I didnt really know battle cat back then, so It's a trip that you mentioned it today)

"Sweet Patatoe Pie" - Domino (I bought this cd over like 2 months ago... I made a thread about it, this whole cd is on some crazy G Funk shit, it's tight)

"Raincoat" - Domino (I aint really feeling "Long Beach Thang" that much so I'll replace it with this one)

ANT: yeah, BattleCat did produce "Sweet Potatoe Pie"... he almost produced that whole Domino cd. Alot of us probably first RECOGNIZED (Not Heard) Battle Cat on "G'd Up".... I know I did... but he's been around for a long time... before Domino's cd he did a couple beats on Bloods & Crips "Bangin On Wax"
