Title: Kurupt DAZ DPG Last Of tha Pound: Do YOU Know when these tracks were recorded?
Post by: Twisted Smoke on July 10, 2007, 11:02:11 AM
Tha last of tha pound was a cool little album but when were these Fuckin tracks recorded? ???

Some songs sound like 1996-1998 and some sound like 1999-2001.

Does Anybody out there know?

Did Daz or Kurupt ever mention it in any interviews? ???

dope album, Don't Stop with Nas is my favorite track, 2 verses by both Nas and Daz :o and Kurupt was spitting with his old DR flow, and Started might be the best lyrical solo Kurupt track I've heard but the Foxy track  ;D must've been about the time Gotti was having problems with Fox cause he ghostwrote her some hot garbage

"Jakkmove" is the dopest track on the album, but "Don't Stop" is fuckin classic too, but Nas is recyclin his rhymes a lil bit...

you can make the case that even though this is a compilation of tracks that other than Dogg Food this is Kurupt's best lyrical performance on an album

Dead on homie. Lyrically it is Kurupt still at his height. I know Daz was mad at the time and just wanted to get the music out there but I wonder if most of these tracks were meant for their 2nd album or other projects.

maybe they were supposed to be on West Coast Aftershock. That was a rumoured title for a Dogg Pound album to be released on Death Row around 97/98.

that album would've been crazy, I consider Streetz almost like a DPGC album since there are so many features on it but even though Kurupt kills it you can start to sense a bit of an inconsistency in his lyrics, not a big dropoff but a little

I could sense it big time on Kuruption, but he made a nice comeback with Tha Streetz. That album is like a blueprint for almost any member in the DPGC in how it should flow and sound like IMO.

Don't Stop
I prefer the original with 2pac,
2pac is much much much > Nas

What the People Say

In this track Kurupt says he just had a daughter named Morgan.
Does anybody know what year she was born?

My FAVORITE tracks from this album are:

8. Jakkmove  (w/the outlawz)
the DPG and all the outlawz come with major heat on this shit.
Some True Gangsta Shit!
Napolian KILLS it!

9. We R Them Dogg Pound Gangstaz
Classic DAZ and Kurupt 10/10
This shit is so Dope.

10. Started
I Love this Fuckin Track.
Kurupt also used these lyrics on "Run and Duck", "10 till midnight"(that dpg 2002 track), and at least one other song.

Does anybody out there want to try to "date" all 10 tracks from Last Of tha Pound ?
