Check it, I got dis from a site--
"Then we gon creep to South Central / On a Street Knowledge mission, as I steps in the temple /Spot him, got him, as I pulls out my strap / Got my chrome to the side of his White Sox hat /You tryin to check my homey, you better check yo self /Cause when you diss Dre you diss yourself, motherf*cker "
In talking to some of my fellow Hip-Hop heads about classic albums and songs, Dr. Dre's The Chronic usually comes up, with "Dre Day" being one of the favorite songs on the album. When discussing the track I realized that a lot of Hip-Hop heads totally missed the diss to Ice Cube, thinking that the whole last verse was directed towards Luke.
In the last verse, there are three direct references to Ice Cube. First, Snoop says "Then we gon creep to South Central", which is the part of L.A. that Ice Cube is from and also claimed in many of his songs. Second, Snoop says "On a street knowledge mission". Street Knowledge was the name of Ice Cube's label back in the early '90s, which featured his group, Da Lench Mob. If you listen The Chronic, you'll hear Dre mention a few times that "he's mobbin' not lenchin'", which is a direct reference to Ice Cube and his label. Third, Dre says "Got my chrome to the side of his White Sox hat," which alludes to the hat Ice Cube's wears in his "Steady Mobbin'" video and on the cover of a back issue of The Source.

The song was also directed at Eazy, the first part of Dre's verse (was partially)...
"[They] don't even respect yo ass,
That why it's time fo tha doctor to check yo ass!"
-
The song was also directed at Eazy, the first part of Dre's verse (was partially)...
No comment.............
-
they've all made up now so i ain't trippin...plus cube was in the Let Me ride which had a line punch at him but him and dre were in the same video
-

OFCOURSE it waz directed at eazy, but dis waz suppose 2 be some hidden diss.
And anotha thing, I heard dre really wanted 2 get cube on 2001, but he refused 2 do any tracks 4 him.

I don't think dre and cube really had any serious beef. If you listen to No Vaseline, it's not like Cube takes major shots at Dre. It's mostly directed towards Eazy and Ren.
-
Hidden? I always thought everyone caught that, at least all my homies and I did when that song first came out. I just thought everyone knew about it. Peace
-
i didnt know that shit, well now we can say dre has dissed all of NWA
-
NWA niggaz on a motherfuckin mission
remember that?
-
It wasn't that hidden, that was about the height of Dre's insults to Cube. Cube, in much the same way, responded offhandedly, in "It Was A Good Day".
I believe the reason Cube wasn't on the album was thatb "Hello" was the best track he did with Dre, and that was on Peace.
-
What specifically were the lines that Cube and Dre said to diss each other?
-
i didnt know that shit, well now we can say dre has dissed all of NWA
HAS HE DISSED YELLA?!??!
peace
-
I dont think he's dissed yella, but in an interview last year he said he doesn't speak 2 him anymore.
-
I DONT THINK N E ONE NEW WHERE HE WAS UNTIL EARLY THIS YEAR WHEN HE WAS LOOKED FOR 4 THE NWA REUNION!
SO...!
;D
-
I DONT THINK N E ONE NEW WHERE HE WAS UNTIL EARLY THIS YEAR WHEN HE WAS LOOKED FOR 4 THE NWA REUNION!
I dunno about dat, they all knew dat yella's workin on his porn movies, in tha last 7-8 years he's made over 100 porn videos, I seen couple of his videos dat my brother had, and they're pretty good.
-
YEH THEY KNEW HE WAS MAKIN THEM, BUT HIS LOCATION WAS A BIT OF A MYSTERY IVE HEARD!!
:)
-
Ya i guess, Is he still makin music or what?
-
JUST 4 THE PORNOS I THINK
I MEAN HE ONLY REALLY DID ACAPELLAS AND SUM MIXIN 4 NWA DIDNT HE?!?!
HE SED A WHILE AGO HE MAY WANT 2 DO THE REUNION IF THE CONDITIONS R BETTA, IE EVERY ONE GETS A FAIR SHARE OF THE $$$
INCLUDIN EAZYS KIDS COS HE WANTS THEM 2 BENEFIT 2
peace
-
They're idiots not makin tha reunion of NWA, fuck tha other projects, stick 2 dis first.
-
ummmm
if cube dropped all his projects he was signed to he'd get sued for a shit load from paramount and universle for bailing out of a contract
if dre dropped all his other projects just to work on this album all of his artists would leave
same with snoop
cube, dre, and snoop are 3 of the busiest people in rap right nowand already had projects going on before this....the reunion won't happen til like 2003 or 4 when ever thing is done
-
dre dissed ice cube b4 the chronic n e way he did it in nwa check 100 miles n runnin
-
yeah were gonna get a senior NWA album like in 2015 ;D
-

THIS IS RUMOURED 2 BE THE FRONT COVER
BUT THEYVE RENAMED THE GROUP (GWA)

Old thread but...Listen to Da Lench Mob's Guerillas Ain't Gangstas, there's a subtle reply...T-Bone's verse a voice says "A Street Knowledge mission? You niggaz is wishin!".
PS I've asked something similar before... but where is T-Bone these days... being a massive fan I'd really be interested in Dub CNN feature interview with the Mob, especially T-Bone and other figures eg Chilly Chill... see what they are up to and what Cube' relationship is with any of the members.
