Title: The Fixxers
Post by: FUCK U on July 21, 2007, 12:30:12 AM
I really hope this cd is dope...........can you work dat(or what ever the fuck its called is trash) Dont get me wrong Quik is one of my all time favorites but fuck, Trauma was off the hook, sure it didnt sell all that well but really that is the best consistent cd since the chronic2001.........I mean hows many cds since then have u been able to listen to begining to end the skip no songs(thers nothing)...........getting off topic(little pissd) but if quik puts out some commercial ass pop, down south crunck, crump, hyphy whatever the fuck you want to call it trash, i will be extremely pissd off..........Quik is a talented producer I would just hate to see him dumb down his music to sell on a major...........

Peace,

from now on Im speaking the truth, Ive p'd game for a minute now chilled in the back, now I'm "tellin it like it is".

theres no reason quik cant be on the same level as a dre or timbo(not sayin I personaly want that but fuck, I hope The Fixxers disc is sick but , if quik thinks he can put out a cd full of(can you twirk its?) then fuck it.............Im sick of this new shit.......its insane, I'm not takin this half ass radio tarsh.... dont get me wrong there the odd good new artist, but for the most part no originalty. Lately ive been diggin through the classics i got(listening to eazy-e- nobody meve(fuckin sick)) I no times have changed but fuck these club records.  Since when did you have to do huge numbers to but out a classic hip hop record( its the "50 cent sybdrome")

Dont forget,   Good Music is.......Good Music..............fuck numbers!

Peace

Fixers are pretty quiet, there've not released any info on what they next single will be like, so it's up in the air..

you guys are all hating on can you work with dat but if it wasnt for that song he wouldnt get signed with interscope.... he wouldnt appear on shows like entourage...... that record opened up a lot of doors for quik and you know why? because there are only a few people like guys on this board who want to listen to g funk/90s rap music..... if you want to sell records you got to make records like can you work with dat..... He gave you Trauma already...... now he wants to make something that will sell..... so let him do his damn thang

he wouldnt appear on shows like entourage...... that record opened up a lot of doors for quik and you know why?

Entourage has shown love for DJ Quik WAY before "Can U Werk wit dat".  "Does the Good life exist for us?" was played in the First and Second season finales and Quik had a cameo in one of the episodes in season Two, so he's been gettin love from Entourage for a couple years before this song came out.

The only doors it might have opened up were the cell-phone ringtones door, since a lot of artists are making some decent money off that revenue.

That song is pretty good for the type of music it is. And i thought the whole point of the fixxers was to make some party shit - ie. money - without necessarily tarnishing the names of quik or amg as solo artists. So hopefully Quik can make some coin off this shit, and make another dope solo album that nobody will buy.

Well first off.. Quik didn't produce "can u werk wit dat" AMG did that beat..
Also.. Its not all that bad.. The track sounds way better than all those other stupid tracks now adays like "A bay bay"
.. And so on..
I mean I aint mad at they're hustle..
Its all good..
And I mean it got them signed to interscope..
Thyere gonna be producing on many artists albums.. Such as "Yung Joc".. And so on..
Me I don't hate I like anything
Before I used to be like its all west.. But I mean I changed to likin some west coast..
East coast, and south..
I love songs with bass.. And that's what the south gots is some bad ass drum patterns and heavy bass drops..
I love it all.. West , east , south..
I'm actualy anticapating this album so much..
Not just cause ima Quik/AMG fan..
But because.. With the Equipment they're using.. And With the mind of Quik.. And Quik being untouchable on the Synthesizers..
And this album will have many dope synths.. With the Equipment they're using..
So I mean it just gots me like whoa.. And yeah right now they're quiet.. And that's good cause they're workin on the album right now.. And tryin to perfect it..
But yeah.. Don't give up on it just yet.. Trust.. They got some tricks up they're sleeves..
Also I heard amg sayin they were gonna work with "DJ Khaled" hell yeah "The Fixxers" and DJ Khaled.. Producing a track all together.. Fuck yeah..

If they could drop another hott song that many people be vibin to well.. I honestly do see The Fixxers going gold..
And plus they have been succesful even wothout dropping the album..
I mean the ringtones sold a grip.. So that was a success..
theyve gotten the respect of the new hott artist's..  Even though Quik has always been top notch.. He just fell out a bit.. Cause he wasn't doing what was in.. And well.. Now I view the fixxers as something like the neptunes many artist are gonna want them on they're albums..[
And I'm happy for that.. And I mean its not like they're not reppin the west.. In the remix.. Quik even shouts out cube , battlecat , Dre , Mac 10 , W.C. So I mean trust they still love tha west..
But its a buisness and u gotta get that money.. But at the same time they aint gonna drop just trash.. They're gonna drop a good album why do u think its taking so long.. Cause they're trying to perfect it..

im gonna get the album when it comes out

Ill give it a listen first just incase im reeeealy disapointed but if its anywhere close to a 6 on 10 ill buy it too support Quik and hope he finaly gets some props in the rap game all across not just on the west.

To me its a shame he had to go this route to do it tho.
Even one of my boys who had no idea he knew who Quik was reconised.

Nah thats too little..
trust Interscope know's what theyre doing.. i got faith in this..
i mean what im sayin is.. if they can drop 2 hott singles on the radio than this album will sell..
Trust.. but i know for a fact itll be just more than 2 hott singles.. i got a good feelin it's gonna have a new nice vibe overall.. to be succesful you gotta change and thats what im excited about..
i mean we havent even heard Quik put any touches on the tracks yet.. only AMG.. so i mean.. like i said before..
for all we know.. this album could be a Classic.. we just never know until it drops..

As I said before....I don't think it's a completely HORRIBLE song, and as a club song, it is decent to me, and gets great reaction with some people. Some people on the West like it just because it's Quik, while some people in the south like it because it sounds like something they would make. However, even as an attempt to make a down south song, it doesn't have that energy that "Wipe me down" "White girl" "Rock star" and the other down south hits have.

I am not even asking Quik to make "played out G-Funk" beats...but Jazz and Soul music are basically timeless, and much of his work that was inspired by this music is timeless as well. G-Funk is definitely played out...but much of Quik's music is not even G-Funk. LMFAO that people think anything that has a strong musical structure is "G-Funk".

Well To be honest, to me any track that has a heavy Bass lines, that bounces or changes, is considered to have a little bit of G-Funk, that is arguably!!

But well Put!!

Blu!

The Fixxers are trash straight up... and like the homie said, soul music and jazz music is timeless there is always a way to twist it to make it sound fresh and new, wich was the case with Quik sound,
