I think Nas kills Jay-Z , nas's beats are better lyrics are better and his flow is waaay better, just look at the albums
Illmatic vs Reasonable Doubt
Winner = Nas
It Was Written vs Vol 1: In My Lifetime
Winner = Nas
I Am vs Vol 2: Hard Knock Life
Winner = Nas
Nastradaumas vs Vol 3 : Life & Times of S.Carter or his comp album "la famila, the dynasty"

but every other jay-z album following that..is better than every other nas album that came after illmatic
jay-z has had better guest appearances than nas in the past years..nas comes horrible when he tries to spit on r&b songs for mariah or whoever...jay-z flows well over mostly anything..

i'll go with nas on all of those except nastradamus. life and times vol 3 was much better than nastradamus.

Nas is most definitely the doper MC...but in a battle I'd have to go with Jigga...He could come up with more dope punchlines than Nas...Nas is a thinking man's MC...All of Nas albums are better than Jigga's with the exception of Nastradamus...And the Nastradamus bootleg was a lot better than the actual album that came out...

Id say Nas is the better emcee, but over the past few years both of them have dropped poor albums, Jigga can drop some sick freestyles though...
And the way i see it KRS One is the king of New York....

NIK is on point. I think The Dynasty is better then Qb's finest unless you are just talking about nas, mobb deep tracks. Most of the other tracks on qb's finest were so so. I think Nas is a better mc but you can't forget about the talent jay-z has. He is a great writer. I just wish he wasn't as commercial.

I actually was gunna put tie between "QB's Finest" and "The Dynasty", but I was feeling "QB's Finest" a little more, I dunno hy...Maybe because of the tight Nas/Mobb Deep tracks...

U definitely got this right... Overall, NAS is still a better lyricist than Jigga but he should stick to his guns (his style of beats) coz Jigga is one hell of a versatile guy (just like the like the one and only 2Pac).

IMO Nas wins hands down. Jigga's aight, he can
write, no doubt, but I've always thought Nas packs
mo' heat. I would'nt really count any of Jay-Z's LP's
classic's but I could easily label "Illmatic" as a
classic. "It Was Written" proves Naz's lyrical skills 2
b some real heavy sheeeet, but I agree
bout "Nastradaumas", that was a commercial
dissapointment IMO.
