Do you think it's about time Dre be authentic as an MC and write his own lyrics for a change?
The guys a hip hop genius/been in the rap game for many years, surely he can write down some decent/dope rhymes.
He wants the Detox to be great and all that, so he should start by writing his own lyrics.
Even if it's one fuckin song on his last album.
-
dre never been a good mc, he has good but simple rhymes, nothin compared to for instance eminem EARLY days, i think he should stick to producin
-
Hey yo Dre stick to producing
-
Hes far known more for his producing than his ability to write rhymes. Why change now.
-
Hey yo Dre stick to producing
-
and who gonna ghost write lol ?
-
Dre shouldn't start writing his own raps now... but he definately should rap. Cause Dre's got a presence on the mic that few can match, regardless of lyrical skills.
-
What raps has Dre ever written to make you think he should be writing his own raps? He didnt even write his own shit when he was with NWA. Cube and Ren wrote ALL those lyrics.

Well he wrote some of his shit on efil4zaggin and some other shit thats stated by D.O.C
Those rhymes are doper then a lot of shit by todays rappers.
Also for songs he's known to start of the first couple of lines, like on 'Deep Cover' and tells the likes of snoop to finish it.
When a rapper shows him the lyrics he's usually like change this to that, take that out, add these lines...according to rappers who have worked with him. Tells them also how to flow over a beat etc...
I mean damn he's coaching other niggas all that.
Also it would be cool to know that when ya listenig to songs from the Detox that he actually wrote the shit you hearing.
That last song on Chronic 2001 (produced by Finesse) where he raps about his brother he must of had a lot of input on the writing for that track.
How else another nigga gonna write about Dre's feelings n shit about his dead brother.
-
well he's probly gonna write a few of the rhymes on Detox, majority will be ghost written for sure, i dont think it would matter if he started writting his own lyrics or not, he's sold plenty of records with outt writtin his lyrics, and plus when you got people like The DOC writting for you then u should be good.
-

Yep thats cool that Dre has been D.O.C's voice on records for years, coz as we know the D.O.C is one of the greatest writers of all time.
Those two niggas together in the studio make classic rap records.
But on Dre's last solo album should be at least one song produced, written and performed by just by him.
-
Yeah Dre should start writing his own rhymes just like it was a good idea for Snoop to start producing his own songs.
LOL
-
I Dont Think Its A Good Idea Shit Let People Write Your Shit
-
Who wrote Dre's recent shit?
I think D.O.C wrote his lines for Imagine which were not up to standard.
Who wrote that shoddy basic joke of a verse for him on that Timbaland song? Missy fuckin Elliot? :P
OOH! There she go, just what the Doc's been lookin' fo'
She just what I need, black and Chinese like Sum Yung Ho
I got a bungalow, we can diappear for a week or so (yeah)
I got a steady young flow, super bowl wit' it like I'm Dungy yo (oh)
Yes, congratulations, you won a millionaire invitation
Sorry I'm so demandin', but save the dancin', for back at the mansion and
Ain't, this money handsome? Ain't, that a panty anthem?
I kill me, just like you, from the back you'll see

Wackest verse i've heard from Dre ever, the whole fuckin track is garbage...
-
He should do at least 1 song, just to show everyone he can do it, its his last album too, so why not!!!

Because it would be wack. Dre is not an mc, he is a producer. Stick to what you do best.

ThaFormula.com - But in between all this you all did the "100 Miles and Runnin'" EP and you knew now that it was your time to step up. How did you feel about that?
MC Ren - When that nigga left, I knew I had to pick my shit up 'cause Dre wasn't really no rapper. He wasn't really no hell of a rapper back then and shit. He just would fill in. But when Cube left he started rapping more, but I always knew I had to pick it up. I was writing my shit, Eric's shit, Dre was helping write Eric shit, 'cause when Cube left we still had me, D.O.C. and Dre.
ThaFormula.com - So Dre actually wrote his shit?
MC Ren - Yeah, he wrote some of his shit. He write some of his shit and some of his shit he don't write. You can tell shit he writes. D.O.C. would write a lot of Dre's shit too. You could tell when you hear a lot of Dre shit if DOC wrote it.

if Dre starts to write his own lyrics he will never finish detox :-\
He should just concentate to produce and choose the right guest spots. D.O.C should write his shit
-
Dre should release Detox . Period
-
He should just get the same muthafuckas who been always writin for him, Snoop, D.O.C. etc... and release that muthafuckin Detox

Agreed. Dre would be a pretty good rapper if he wrote his own lyrics...
