E.J., don't you work for Apple? There's shitloads of rumors floating around about a new iMac coming in the next couple of weeks. Know anything about it?
-
there are rumors of them coming out around sept/oct, probably closer to the end of october when leopard is released

See I've been reading hella shit about possibly August 7th.

rumors are just that, rumors
20 different sites will have 20 different dates/possibilities when they can be arriving, if you base your decision on that, you'll never get one because there's always rumors of one just around the corner
i wouldnt buy either an iMac or mac mini yet until they've had an update, since they havent been updated in about a year
-
i would say expect it when leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) as that would be a good time to drop both... rumors say that they are going to the aluminum look rather than the white....
and i dont work at apple... but yeah nothing is sure ever with apple... but rumors are just that... but the imac they have now is a perfectly good machine... that im sure you will be happy with... i just bought a new MacBook Pro and i am loving it

Apple is suppose to have a press event on August 7th. Maybe new iMacs or iPods?

was just about to post this. If they are not out on the 7th then most likely wait til os x 10.5 drops but from what I heard this new press event it is supposed to be "mac" related only so that to me means no ipod/iphone stuff. So sounds very promising

Mac Press Conference is tomorrow! ... looks to be an update to iMacs and maybe Mac Mini's along with its .mac suite... tomorrow Tuesday August 7th @ 10am Pacific time
-

ilife 08 is nice, iwork is a big improvement

well it seems as if they did some things to make iphoto run way better... i love the whole "events" concept they are doing... it minimizes your library pretty much down to just however many events you have on your mac... i do like the whole web gallery they got going on too... i am a .mac subscriber so the integration between ilife, .mac my MacBook Pro and my iPhone should be great....
but iwork does seem like a big jump... especially with numbers now... we will see... i would get an iMac if i didnt get my MacBook Pro just about a month ago
-
looks like i spoke too soon
iphoto still runs like shit, iview is keeping my money for now

well i have about 7,000 runs pretty good to me... especially since i picked up my new machine... of course...
2.2 ghz core 2 duo with 2gigs of ram tho... it better be pretty good atleast. but there is room for improvement.
cool i know the internet is a big place but was wondering if you could tell me exactly where? lol haha... im torrenting one now tho but its about 3.6 gigs ooouch lol... but its a disk image of the DVD.
ive been out of the mac warez situation for a while now... i used to use #macfilez all the time back in the day... lol.. but now not so much... i havent been on #macfilez in a about 2 years maybe..

New keyboard is sick. I hate having to go to work and using that old keyboard now. The only thing I don't get is on the wireless version they cut off the 10 key, so it's more like a laptop keyboard. I have to have 10 key cuz I use excel like a mutha. Hopefully they'll release a wireless w/ the 10 key later...

LOL, even the monitor on that dell is thicker than the iMac. What a cumbersome piece of shit. I've moved my iMac all over the place, it's portable as hell.

yeah they have the whole office suite... new one coming out too Microsoft Office 2008 plus apple has its own programs that are compatible with office called iWork
main differences are the operating system it runs Mac os X instead of Windows XP or Vista
and another huge thing and one of the main reasons i love apple is their intigration. they make both their software and hardware which they can make sure runs SMOOTH not having to deal with third parties.
if you honestly gave it a shot i think you would fall in love with it... most people do..

here's my 2 cents...
Mac's suposiedly can't get viruses so no need for antivirus software
the newer macs use intel chips now so they can run Mac OS and Windows now so if u want the best of both worlds don't get any better
:)
