most of y'all think that "da game is to be..." is a wack album and i'll agree with you there...but that's not what i wanted to talk about...what i wanted to say was y'all including myself thought that "doggz gonna get cha" was one of the dopest songs on the cd but the other day i heard it on the radio by an old school rapper which means to me that snoop just took another beat and redid the lyrics like what he did with vapours, lodi dodi, and dp gangsta...which makes me think that sucks because two of the best songs on that da game... cd aren't even his, peace.
-
KRS-One did the original of that song...
-
yeah that shit is tight, i love his version too, peace.
-
Tha KRS-one version is called LOVE's gonna getcha.
-
I don't c tha problem ??? Artists sample all tha time,
Pac's done it, Dre's done it, whats tha big deal ??? It's not as if he's samplin' on every single cut.
-
snoop ain't the only one who sample song,, but because he's on top , he got so many haters, woooof can't believe this,,, anyways snoop shake them hater off.... 8)
-
I think it's when you change about three words and then just redo the song it goes beyond sampling.
-
Well I think we all know Snoop got mad lyrics....can't
nobody doubt that.....
-
i ain't putting snoop down for nothin but he ain't got maddd lyrics, he is very limited, someone with maddd lyrics is Rakim...snoop is not a lyrical rapper, he's a stand out mainstream make the crowd bounce rapper, he can be ill at times with the lyrics but that's not where his spotlight is, peace.
-
I disagree, I think he's far beyond limited & IMO he
brings heat but thats jus' me.
-
yeah but his lyrics never make you sit there and think, damn that's some deep shit...he ain't lyrically awesome, if you want awesome lyrics than listen to nas illmatic, or a common cd, or if you want some tight ass lyrical lyrics than listen to canibus, peace.
-
na, I didn't say he packd awsome lyrics, I said they were mad, which IMO is what he packs lyrically. I agree that he ain't deep, but then thats what Snoops style is about, what he raps is real 2 him & thats all good wit me.....you don't gots 2 b deep all that time 2 b a lyrical genius IMO. The point I'm tryin' 2 make is, he might of sampled lyrics/beats but I know he can write, so....
-
i ain't saying snoop was a lyrical genius on da game is to be sold but he fuckin' ripped it on woof...
-
the point i was making was "da game..." was a shitty album but it had some dope tunes on it, and the point was 2 of the dopest tunes on the cd weren't even original so that i thought was wack...there's no doubt in my mind that the best song on that cd is "snoop world", only downside to it is the master p part, i hate that, peace.
