...and dammit, what a great fucking album this is. It had been a while since I last bumped it - I try not to play it too often 'cause I don't wanna take the risk of growing tired of it - but I have a feeling it'll be in regular rotation again this summer 8)
Was playing this in my car this afternoon and everything about this album is just dope: the production is on point and Cube, Mack & Dub all come correct on the mic too. Their cocky, hardcore and we-don't-give-a-fuck-this-is-Westsiiiiide mentality drips off of this album.
Can't get enough of this gangsta shit!

Yeah...about a month ago I listened to it again for the first time in like 2-3 years...it brought me back to Cube, I've been listening to all his old shit for the past month. Bow Down is a certified classic, it gets slept but its one hell of an album....hard beats, hard lyrics, and saying FUCK YOU to anyone who wasnt down with the W.
-
Also..people dont remember but unlike many "classics" these days...Bow Down was received well right when it was released. The Source gave it 4.5 mics, every critic was saying its a must have album, the music was simply too dope to ignore, even if they were shitting on everybody.
-
Exactly. Quality can not be ignored at the end of the day, even though they were shitting on the East Coast AND Cypress Hill 8)
-
yea for some strange reason i just started listenin to it again after a long time.... classic album. 2 bad TT was'nt.
-
West coast classic 8) Every track on that CD is banging!

They weren't shitting on the East Coast, they were dissing the critics in NY of westcoast rap and anyone else not down with the movement. If the shoe fits, they got served on this album.

One of the best West Coast albums ever, "Cross Em Out & Put A K" might be my favourite WSCG track of all times...
-
Word, I dig up this album about once every 6 months and blaze it for a week. One of the few you can listen to from front to back without skippin ahead.
