Title: When Paul Pierce talks...management listens
Post by: GangstaBoogy on July 31, 2007, 02:56:08 PM
It seems like overnight that entire franchise turned around. Take a look at the order of events...

June 26: Paul Pierce has finally told team management that unless the Celtics come out of this week with a talented veteran
co-star for him, they should expect him to make a public declaration soon after Thursday's draft that he wants a trade.

June 28: Traded Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak, and #5 draft pick to Seattle for Ray Allen and #35 draft pick

July 31: Traded Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Ryan Gomes, Theo Ratliff, and 2 1st round draft picks for Kevin Garnett

When they made the trade for Ray Allen I though, nice, but how is that supposed to help them win now? And what does that do for Gerald Green? Well I guess they decided that they want to win now and they would trade whoever it takes (minus #34) to make that happen...

07-08 Boston Celtics starting lineup
C: Kendrick Perkins
PF: Kevin Garnett
SF: Paul Pierce
SG: Ray Allen
PG: Rajon Rondo

I never thought I would say this, but...I wish Mitch Kupchak was more like Danny Ainge!

What a fuckin retard...

Fact of the matter is, McHale and Ainge are friends, and Lakers didn't have the pieces to sway McHales mind. Danny Ainge is still an incompetent GM, he potentially gave up too much for KG, as with Ray Allen...PeACe

maybe, but people are interested in boston now. they could still flop on their face , but wow you look those three players and it's almost like half of starting eastern conf. all star team from 2000

boston gave up a little to much to get KG but their whole thing is they want to win now fuck the waiting for players to develop. It could backfire on Boston but you have to give credit to them cause they actually went out and did something and are willing to take that risk.

I don't see how Ainge didn't build anything? He acquired Ray Allen and KG to keep his star satisfied. Whether or not Ainge is his friends with Mchale or not, he sealed the deal the Lakers couldn't.

First of all, the deal for Ray Allen was not great or anything. Ainge has BEEN a terrible GM, the fact that he happens to be long time friends with McHale, and the fact that McHale would much rather deal KG to Boston than to LA is what made this work. It's Celtic pride, homie...PeACe

it's still a better deal than anything we have done all off season bro.
besides that, Kobe still might bail on us..

Regarless what Boston has done, WE haven't done shit yet and won't ... sadly we have to admit our franchise will be stuck in mediocrity til Mitch is the GM ...

Well, you never know. Maybe Mitch might work something out involving Kobe. A Blockbuster trade that will shit on this one.

^^^^ Naw Kobe will be traded after next season and we'll get robbed in the same we were for Shaq... Cupkake hasn't had a plan til 2004, no vision for the future and has done a terrible work in terms of handling the salary cap ...

NIK, how do you do it?  Not only do you have tons of inside information on the Lakers, but you also operate on the east coast as well?

Fucking tool.

In five years, this may be a bad deal for Boston.  But right now, it is a great deal for Boston.

Lol exactly. Pierce says 'get me some veteran help and I'm gone' and Ainge went out and got Ray Allen AND Kevin Garnett. I don't give a fuck who he's friends with, he did whatever it took to please his franchise player.

Meanwhile, Mitch, Jerry, and Jim refuse to sign anyone or make any trades because they're too afraid.

^ we offered them CRAP. My point exactly. Not only do we not have players talented enough to win with, but we even have players talented enough to pull of a trade with. Sure teams are interested in Bynum (for now) but thats about it, unless we put Kobe on the trading block.

We offered them crap? We offered them EVERYONE but Kobe, LOL! Our package was actually better than Boston's IMO...Bynum's value will sky-rocket by midseason if he progresses as much as he did in his 2nd season...PeACe

Your opinion fuckin sucks. No way in hell was our package better than one involving Jefferson & Green.

Spice, you been overexaggerating like a muthafucka lately...I know you like BabyG, but dear God, please don't take after him.

Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Vladimir Radmanovic + Future picks > Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Futrure Picks.

The 3 best prospects in this trade IMO are Odom, Jefferson, and Bynum.

Fuck outta here. More teams are interested in Gerald Green than Lamar Odom. G.Green has potential. With Odom, they know they're getting a good all around player who happens to be an inconsistent underachiever.

Boston will be a contender, LA will be lucky to make it past the 1st round

LMFAO! Gerald Green? Slap yourself, dumbshit...Gerald Green is just as much a project as Andrew Bynum, and then some. You woulda been better off with a comparison between Gerald Green and Javaris Crittenton...

TRADE ODOM FOR GERALD WALLACE!!! :'(

Dumbass.

Let's bottom line this

Kobe says: "this is beyond frustration. after 3 years we're still at ground zero. do something a do it now"
Paul Pierce says: "get me some veteran help or I want to be traded"

Mitch went out and got Javaris Crittenton, 2 international players who won't even make the final cut, and Derek Fisher
Ainge went out and got Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Eddie House, and he's not done yet

See ya later DOUCHE  :psych:

Don't be a retarded. I know it's hard to kick...

Here's the bottome line, dumbfuck...McHale and Ainge are close friends. This trade has nothing to do with Ainge's GMing skills, because it was up to KG and McHale. McHale woulda never shipped KG out to the Lakers, especially if KG didn't demand it... any moron can figure this out on their own...Well, not ANY moron.

"I didn't really considering going to the Lakers because the whole Kobe thing is up in the air"

Hmm sounds like he would've had it not been for Kobe's outburst. Let me guess, McHale made Kobe do it right?

I watched that press conference, and those weren't his words...Yes, he did say the Kobe situation was up in the air, but that was not a reason he gave as to why he didn't sign with LA. If you really think KG is dumb enough to think Kobe wouldn't LOVE to play with him on the Lakers, than he's dumber than you, and we all know that's not the case.

How are they "LIGHTYEARS" ahead when they have an empty roster with 3 superstars? Explain...
