Its now been officially confirmed that Ricky Hatton shall fight Floyd Mayweather on December 8th 2007, fight is expected to take place in Las Vegas

Contracts have been signed for Ricky Hatton's December 8 super-fight against Floyd Mayweather, Hatton's father Ray has confirmed.

Hatton will receive a career-best purse for the contest, which is expected to be officially announced by promoters Golden Boy Promotions imminently.

Ray Hatton told PA Sport: "The contract provided what we wanted and we are officially signed up. Now we are just waiting for the date and venue to be made official.

"Our lawyers have instructed us that the Mayweather camp have also signed at their end. We are delighted with the deal. Ricky's purse is higher than anything he has previous earned."

The MGM Grand in Las Vegas is favourite to host the contest. Hatton could expect a travelling support in excess of the 10,000 who saw him beat Jose Luis Castillo in the city in June.

Mayweather came out of a short-lived retirement to take the fight, and has already begun the hype.

He said: "I don't know who is the pound-for-pound number two in the world, but there is no fighter in the world like me.

"Hatton is in for a rude awakening when we meet and he is in for a shock if he thinks I'm like any fighter he has ever faced. I'm in the business of blood, sweat and tears."

I'm sure the entire world is going to be going for Hatton.  He's everything you want from a Boxer while Mayweather is the complete opposite lol  This is going to be Fight of the Year I hope.  Imma try to go to Vegas for this.

Hatton is overrated. Mayweather wins easy 12 round UD.

 hatton is gonna take it to flloyd if oscar was quicker he would have done him no doubt hatton is quicker so flloyd cant dance around hatton so there gonna have to   brawl and in a brawl its hatton >>>>>mayweather
