It was 1989 and i was 8 years old and went to watch Man Utd v Arsenal at Old Trafford. Arsenal were the champions after clinching the title on the last day of the season after a last min goal against liverpool at Anfield.
Anyway me , my brother, dad and uncle went . I had bought the new kit, well my dad had for me and i remember been so excited. It was the game where Michael Knighton was doing keepy up in front of the stretford end after claiming he had bought the club (he hadnt). Anyway we won 4-1 and took the lead after two min from a header from steve bruce at the end i was sitting at. The noise was immense for an 8 year old and i dont think i will ever forget that moment, after that i was hooked.
What about you ??

Good thread m8! Cant beat a bit of nostalgia.
The first game i remember being at, was Celtic beating Rangers 2 - 0 in the scottish cup in 1997. 9 years old, i remember vividly big Malky Mackay heading past fat Andy Goram who flapped at a corner, and Jocky Bjorklund (I tink) bringing down jorge cadete, and Paulo Di Canio slotting a penalty. Im gona try and get that game on youtube, i also remember the referee (Jim Mckluskey) coz he is from the same town as me.
Although i also remember a game at PIttodrie on boxing day either 96 or 97, where Celtic were wearing the bumblebee strips and Di Canio scoring an absolutly fantastic goal, where he gets on the end of a long ball, flicks it over the keeprs head and rolls it in. Dont remember much else bout that game n dont know if it was before the other one.

Here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kifHBnus5DI
Watching that, i also remember the penalty being soft as fuck, then being denied a stonewaller 10 mins later.

1991/92 FC Bayern - SG Wattenscheid 09
I was like 5, didn't go to school yet and small as fizzuck... I was so damn scared cause there were so many people, and the stairs and seats of the stadium were so damn cliffy... I was scared of "falling down" lol... grabbed by dad's arm all the time.

the first game i can really remember was The Play-Off Final in the 1995/96 Season @ Wembley. It was Bradford (my team) vs Notts County. We won 2-0. what a day, the atmosphere was electric. still have a window sticker and flag somewhere.
edit: only thing i could find about the game.
For Notts, it was their 5th visit to Wembley in just 6 years, by contrast the vastly superior numbers of Bradford fans were enjoying their first ever visit to the twin towers and on the day, even before a ball was kicked, it seemed there could only be one winner and it wasn't going to be Notts.

Damn right. I've also been to watch games at Highbury, Selhurst Park, Wembley and Upton Park. Again none of them were involving United but the Wembley one was when Gillingham won the 2000 Div. 2 Playoff final. Gillingham are the biggest team locally to me.
