Crooked I - BOSS scheduled for release in October 2007
Former Death Row inmate Crooked I flips gang-life for the Director's chair.
LOS ANGELES- AUGUST 2007-- , B.O.S.S., the long-awaited album by underground hip hop legend Crooked I, hits the streets on October 23rd 2007. Co-produced by Crooked I himself, and long-time partner Jim Gittum, B.O.S.S., chronicles 10 years of grindin' and the re-birth of Gangsta Rap.
"New West Anthem," the first single from the LP, is a worldwide hit, which is released physically August 28th and is available digitally now. The success of the original single “Boom Boom Clap” spawned a popular, west coast star-studded remix produced by Jim Gittum, which featured artists Mykestro, Yac-Da-XO (Doggy’s Angels) and Crooked I’s protégés Horse Shoe Gang. It’s possible a remix of the same sort will be released for "New West Anthem,", but a music video is guaranteed to hit BET and MTV in September. Crooked I will shoot the music video for the new track in his hometown, Long Beach, CA.
"It's crazy," said the 30-year old of his recent success. "The support I'm getting for this record is unbelievable. I can't wait to take it all back home for the video."
The second single from B.O.S.S. is yet to be announced, but is confirmed that it will again be produced by Jim Gittum, the man behind hits from 2PAC, Ja Rule, and Death Row Records.
Other tracks featured on the album include “Straight Bosses”, “Gangstas Cry” featuring the soulful vocals of Treacherous Records artiste K-Young, “My Biggest Mistake” a track relating to relationship problems, and the underground club hit “Gangsta Gumbo”.
Crooked I is also finishing a DVD series called “BOSS CHRONICLES”, which will be released after the album is on shelves in October. From there he will hop on a nationwide tour promoting the releases.
In addition to Jim Gittum, who worked closely with Crooked I on the album, producers Scott Storch, Rick Rock and Komplex, all contribute songs. Multi-platinum rapper Bun-B, and label-mates K-Young, Horse Shoe Gang and Sauce Tha Boss are also featured.
Crooked I “B.O.S.S.” available nationwide October 23rd at Wherehouse Music, CD World, Strawberries, Coconuts Music & Movies, and Planet Music.

Man I hope that date will stick. Hopefully this project gets some good promo.
-
if this album is as average as the rest of his shit he's been putting out he shouldn't even drop this album
he should go back to begging Snoop for a job
-
yeah, i read that this morning too... i agree with that BFC dude over there tho when he said that Crook's PR team needs to start posting up banner ads all over the major hip-hop sites to promote it... also promote it at myspace too... and of course they need to hit up the major hip-hop publications too for full page ads; The Source, XXL, Vibe, etc.
hopefully this sticks.
Well don't forget this information JUST dropped today... Hopefully they get the ball moving!

Hopefully that date will stick. This album has been one of my most anticipated ones for quite some time now...
Good to hear that he's planning to shoot a video for N.W.A., although I doubt it'll blow up. Don't know. It's got some potential, that's for sure.
As long as the album's good, I'll be more than satisfied. Album sales are secondary to me.

The-Leak aka Kingwell is one of the mods over @ Crook's forum... so he does have a bit of inside info. on this... i also have heard that there aren't going to be too many guest features on the album... but we'll wait and see once a tracklist gets posted... which is another reason why i'm anxious to read Johnny1000's interview that he did recently with Crook, because those were some of the questions that i wanted him to ask... so until then, we'll have to wait and see.
wasn't saying i didn't believe him, just curious how he knew that...if so, that's wack...Im not saying Knoc should have like 5 verses on the album, but Crooked could sure use Knoc for just a hook on a song...A) he could capitalize cause knoc is a good hook singer and B) with him being VP of treacherous it wouldn't hurt to provide some promo for them by having them on his LP
i also can't wait for that Crooked I interivew johnny did, he asked Crooked about Knoc for me (i think) ;)

it's all good Lunatic... wasn't accusing you of anything... just wanted to make the point that The-Leak does have mod status over there, so perhaps he's correct??... but i'm with you on the interview... hopefully those questions were addressed properly.
i know u wasn't accusing me of anythin homie, thanks for the info on the leak's credibility doe 8)
he probably is correct, even if he didn't say it, i doubted knoc would be on it anyway, but i'm interested 2 hear what crooked has 2 say about knoc...he's pretty much collaberated with everyone else signed 2 treacherous so it's a bit mind-boggling
i trust johnny asked our questions 8)
