LOL... it ended up being her only good solo joint she ever made. It's what she will be remembered for, it was hit with the streets and the suburbs.

^^ Yeah, lol, that was funny:
The Lady Of Rage: Just like I didn't like "Afro Puffs"!
Dubcnn: You didn't like it?!
The Lady Of Rage: No!
Dubcnn: What?
The Lady Of Rage: No, I did not! I felt that that song was gonna ruin my career!
Dubcnn: Why is that?
The Lady Of Rage: I just didn't like it! The track, all of that. It was like a West Coast sound, and most of the tracks that I like are East Coast, like I said I like samples, so that's a East Coast thing. West Coast is more original music, and I just felt that this is not the first song that people need to hear me on.
Dubcnn: Don't tell me you didn't like the "G-Funk Intro" on Snoop's album!
The Lady Of Rage: Look. It's a lot of things I didn't like, but because of Dre being the producer that he is... That's another thing I like, I like working with producers that know what they're doing, I just follow the direction. I like that. I might put up a fight a bit, but that's what a producer does, he knows! So Dre would just say "Will you just shut up and do it? Just do it! Just do it!" And I'd be like "Alright, alright, I'll do it." So that's what I did! That's what I did with "Afro Puffs", that's what I did with "G-Funk Intro". That wasn't my style of music, but he saw the direction, I didn't see it.
Dubcnn: Those songs were dope as hell though!
The Lady Of Rage: Well, yeah! That's another reason I'm talking to you, because of that! *laughs*

That's her only solo track that's even worth mentioning
-
no..no... don't hate her for that or even think she is an idiot....
those were her honest feelings... and i appreciate her being honest about it all... she could have told a big fat lie but she chose to speak the truth.

Word.... that's right. There was nothing wrong with what she said. She even admitted Dre knew better than her and so she just listened to him.

U did not like Neccasary Roughness?
-
U did not like Neccasary Roughness?
No, that album was trash. There was some decent material, but nothing memorable or worth mentioning. And this is coming from someone who grew up listening to Aftermath.
-
Actually, "Afropuffs" is one of my least favorite Rage tracks.
I love that shit she busts on Snoop's "Doggystyle" Album.
Rage's track "Sho Shot" is also a Dope ass track. 8)
I actually like it way more than AFRO Puffs.

i didnt like the album, rough rugged and raw was the shit though 8)

Chubb Rock was going to put her out first before she flew out to L.A. ... that would have been an interesting combo..
-
Just Blaze should holla at Rage!!
-
Rage ripped that "G-Funk Intro" and "Do What I Feel" ....The solo she released was alright, the first 6 traccs minus the intro are 8)
Necessary Roughness
Big Bad Lady
Sho Shot
No Shorts
Get With Da Wickedness (Flow Like That)-Remix
-
Man her solo lyrically few albums can fuck with that. The beats were ehh but lyrically she has always been on point. Soooooo many quotables on there.
-
The beats were ehh
thts why i cant listen to her album
-
I liked the Premier beats and a couple of the Daz beats but I really would have liked to hear this if Dr. Dre was doing it.
-
Rage and Dre have unfinished business... i hope the doctor realizes that...

Dre has alot of unfinished business with ALOT of artists.
-
maybe so.... but out of all of them this girl deserves it the most to me...
she waited and went through a lot of shit... starting with being flown out to l.a. only to be left stranded for a few days (luckily leaders of the new school was there to give her a place to stay)...

Oh I think she was the first to get caught up in that DR delays of projects. Suge and Dre could have put SOMETHING out on her at that time but they sit and let her buzz die out almost completely. Yeah Dre owes her but other than contribute a beat or something, IMO he won't do shit.
-
Rage's solo was supposed to come out after Dre or Snoop but unfortunately that didn't happen & she came out last. As for her CD I think it's pretty solid, I like it & except for 2-3 beats I think the beats were bangin' 8)
-
Damn, "Afro Puffs" is one and only!! I luv original version and I love "extended g-funk remix" (I heard the remix befo' I listened 2 tha original version, so I think it's better with Snoop's freestyle and all that shit), if Rage don't like it, I ain't understand why she made these songs ("Affro Puffs", "G Funk Intro")... Dre's dope producer, so he could make every beat... I think Rage can say "Yo, Dre, make sum beats kinda I like" and he could do this. But did he want 2? I ain't know that - while I'm readin' this fragment of tha interview with Nima, I ain't know that...
-
she protested...he told her to just shut up and do it..literally... and she did

Oh hell naw... Unfucwitable from the Doggystyle Allstars album is dope as hell. A dope DJ Premier beat and Rage spits savage from top to bottom.
-
What Baby Dee didnt like this song
-
I think dre and daz produced the track...and i still cant believe that she didnt like it
-
Here is a portion of the interview I did with her sometime back...
Rage: I never liked Afro Puffs…
Styles: Never?
Rage: Never…. As a matter of fact, he (Dre) didn’t ask if I had anything for that beat, he TOLD me to rhyme to it. I just picked the song that I had already written and threw it on there. He was like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was it” and I was like, "What?” That’s what I like about producers like Dre. I like to be directed and guided even if I put up a little fuss or a fight. He will basically just say, “Shut up and just do it. I know what I am doing”. That was our relationship. I would go in and the beat is not even finished and I would be like, “I don’t like this. I don’t like that.” Everything with me was, “I don’t like that!” (Laughs) …He just got to the point of “Shut up and just do it” and I did it. I begged them to please take it off of the soundtrack because I felt that it would ruin my career. I thought that I needed to be on more of a “Lyrical Gangbang” or “Stranded On Death Row” type of beats. You know, hard underground EPMD type of stuff. They told me that they took it off of the soundtrack but they didn’t, and I am glad that they didn’t because we would probably not be talking right now.
-
Shit, that's crazy... :stupid:
-
the beat for Afro Puffs could've been a perfect "laid back" remix for Natural Born Killaz
anyone agree?
-

What the fuck? Rage got alot of bangin solo songs...
-
i personally can't feel female emcees on the mic
of the ones i can stand, Storm from the outlawz has mad talent in her lyrics, Lil Kim used to sound good rapping inbetween Biggie verses, Rage was dope on Afro Puffs and G Funk Intro, but i can't say her solo album was impressive
and Dee from Boss got some dope rhymes
-
Track was Produced By Dr. Dre & Dat N***a Daz
In The Booklet it states Wriiten By Daz & Rage
Mixed By Dre.

Daz did a hell of a job writing that song.
-
Daz did so much 4 Dre. I think he's underestimated...
-
I agree, DAZ never got credit for a lot of his work.
-

Well... yes and no. I heard Dre make the argument once that, if these other people were supposedly doing so much for Dre, then how come they haven't done nothing since Dre left them? And that's a good point. I think Daz showed some level of greatness on "Revenge, Retaliation, and Get Back", but really, that was the only work he hasn't done anything since Dre left him that could compare to the work he did underneath Dre's shadow.

Yeah most of Daz's best stuff was mixed by Dre, not a coincedence.
