It's WC week on Dubcnn! As you already know, the West Coast veteran released his long awaited album "Guilty By Affiliation" on Tuesday, so it was only right that your favorite website linked up with him on the release day to chop it up about the new record. Now, not only did we speak to Dub about the present, but we also had the chance to connect with him for a second piece and put the focus on the past this time around.

For the first time in his career, WC takes his time out to rate and review all his solo and group projects, exclusively for Dubcnn. WC shares his opinion and thoughts about his albums, the mindstate he was in during certain eras, and how he rates his work today. Check out this throwback feature, as Dub takes you back to the Low Profile and Maad Circle days, through the Westside Connection projects all the way up to the solo albums, including the latest "Guilty By Affiliation", and even catches a glimpse of the future.

Also make sure to pick up a copy of "Guilty By Affiliation" if you haven't done so already!

this was a real cool feature!!

it's funny, i know alot of ppl are gonna disagree with him giving himself a shitload of 5/5, but i honestly agree, accept with Terrorist Threats, i think that one is 4.5/5

Yeah, he has dropped a lot of classics.  I think Ghetto Heisman was tighter than Terrorist Threats though.

for real eyy? I dunno man..

only tracks i don't really feel on TT is the title track...superstar & bangin at the party are avg, and the rest is amazing IMO

on GH flirt is WACK, and then there's a bunch of avg tracks IMO like throw ya hood up, and some of the others at the end...I think im gonna bump this album today 8)

TT had a lot of generic tracks IMO.  I liked Flirt on Ghetto Heisman, it was a different type of style for WC and it was tight.

I bought all those albums, and my personal faviorites are "Bow Down", "Curb Servin", and "The Shadiest One"..Dub makes alot of excuses for that "Ghetto Heisman" experiment even though I don't think Def Scam gave him alot of freedom on that album...He needs to chalk that one up as an L cuz that was sad attempt at a mainstream push..It's more like a 1.5/5..."Terrorist Threats" overall was dripping in weak sauce, a few traccs here and there, but no way that shit gets 5/5....No way is GBA 5/5 either, it's decent though, not impressed with the production on the album

"We're In This Together" & "Ain't A Damn Thang Changed" I think are more appreciated if you were around when they released...I listen to them evey now and then, gotta be in the right mood though, but I'm thinking 4's....Dub's flow wasn't as polished as it is today, and now that I think about it I find his style and flow was really kinda boring bacc then...Anyway, he recorded all of it, so I'm sure he feels all that shit is classic

Thanks again, DUBCNN!

He definately rated some of these too high a la Kanye West style but oh well.  TT was not a 5 mic/dub record but more along the lines of 3.5/4 out of 5.
As for Ghetto Heisman, 3.5 seems about right.
Curb Servin was a solid 4/4.5.  Same thing w/GBA, Aint a Damn..., and Were in This...
Shadiest One and Bow Down are the only records that actually deserve 5 dubs.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah some of them were probably rated too high. I mean he told me he'd give the Bow Down album a 10 outta 5 if he could lol...

^^
Bow Down was the shit though. Without a doubt that's a 5/5 record.

I'd given Terrorist Threats 4/5 and The Shadiest One 4.5/5, nut otherwise I agree. But even with my ratings Dub's track record ain't nuthin' to fuck with. Most MC's could only dream of a catalogue of WC's caliber.

I though the GH was tight, not his best, but hell after dropping that the classic Shadiest One, its hard to meet that.   But the GBA cd is getting there real fast though.  IMO, a westcoast classic and closing in on being a hip hop classic in the next few years.  I try to give the GBA cd a break because I have been bumping it all week, but after several fail attempts,  GBA is the still in the cd in the vehicle!!!! ;)
