Title: does anyone here Surf?

does anyone here go surfin in the ocean? I just found out one of my friends been going every weekend this summer. Shit sounds fun as hell, and i've been meaning to give it a try this summer, but didnt have anyone to go with. I used to skate, and still snowboard.. and i used to swim like crazy.. so i think i got all the necessary skills to give it a try.

for those who do.. what do you suggest for a beginner? type of board? other equipment?
i know i need to get a wetsuit since its going to be fall/winter soon, but I live in LA so i dont got much to really worry about.

I surf in huntington beach since I live across the street from it lol. go with your friend out in the water and learn that way

get a long board or a mini malibu. any thing 7 to 10 foot long.

plus surfing isnt anything like snowboarding. i always thought that. but surfing is from the hips. boarding from the shoulders. but youll get the balance a bit faster.

Almost everyday.....if you can skate then surfing will come alot easier
