I can't believe that people rather bought Pac's Raped Classics vol.2 than Guilty By Affiliation. It would have probably sold much more with a proper video or something.

I think rap is the most bootlegged form of music out. People will get it on the net and then the people that actually buy the albums that are left I am sure people are asking for copies from them also. Certain artists do have a loyal fanbase or have built up a big enough fanbase that people will buy the album.

Easily. R&B is not even affected too much by it. And even with new singles dropped by rappers they are not gaining sales for the most part. That and albums are not sticking with release dates. You have artists being pushed back multiple times and changing tracklists daily it seems that most are fed up by the time it is ready to drop.

yea..I think it's the fact that guys are on CPU's more than girls, and are more familiar with the music industry (in terms of following the artists)...where'as  gurls might hear a good R&B song on the radio, and simply just go 2 the store and buy the album...i might be kinda stereotypical, but i think thats true...

IF it is indeed the bootlegging, then rap fans that do it should know that they are the cancer that is killing...

Nah, I think you are on to something. And these days alot of R&B albums are having low 1st week sales and pick up over time or stay steady (beyonce, fergie, t-pain, rihanna, etc). I also think a larger age group of people purchase R&B also so if a song is good on the radio young and old tend to buy.
