Stephon Marbury commented on the Michael Vick situation to a television station in Albany, New York.
“We don’t say anything about people shooting deers and shooting other animals," said Marbury. "You know what I mean? From what I hear, dog-fighting is a sport. It’s just behind closed doors and I think it’s tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down. I think he’s one of the superb athletes and he’s a good human being. I think he fell into a bad situation.”

difference is with hunting, you'reblasting them with a shotty. i don't know how many of you have ever shot a one or bucked a deer, but those fuckers are dead (usually) almost instantaneously. the point is to kill as quick as possible. no suffering.

Deer aren't domesticated animals, dogs are. Deer can't be trained to do anything useful, dogs can. Deer are an actual threat to human lives, and unless a dog is abused by its owner they usually aren't. Deer are killed as quick as possible, when hunting the whole point is to kill them with no suffering involved, and afterwards most people eat the meat. Last time I checked people aren't hunting and cooking dogs in this country.
Hunting is used as a form of population control. If there was no hunting, the deer population would get out of control, and the number of car accidents caused by a deer wandering into the road would probably skyrocket.
Basically what i'm saying is, there is a 95% chance Marbury is mentally retarded and Michael Vick is a piece of shit.

But what would be the point of killing his dogs? Unless they had fucking rabies or something and posed some sort of threat to him or his family there are probably laws against that. And all of this isn't all about his just torturing the dogs, he was hosting dog fights, which is illegal and just plain sick.

There would be no reason to look at the case differently, suffering or not, the dog fights were illegal. Just the fights alone would cause the dogs to suffer. For a dog fight to take place, you first have to have 2 very aggressive dogs in your possesion, now lets say one of those dogs got loose and they ended up in a nearby neighbors yard or something and attacked a kid. There are just multiple reasons why this whole thing is fucked up.

Of course I love dogs, we had ours put down last year and I cried like a bitch. But he does have a point - motherfuckers are killin deer and all kinds of other game on the daily. Granted it's not by electrocution or drowning so it is different but still....go to a slaughterhouse, go to a farm when bulls are gettin castrated and shit, shit ain't pretty.
I can't ever be the type of dude to ever hurt a dog, love em too much. But I ain't ready to kill Vick over it. I think his 12-18 months of jail time fits the crime. It'll prolly destroy his career as well, so it's all good to me.

i have hunted before and i must say there is lots of suffering that goes with hunting... you know how big of a gun you need to take down a deer with one shot.. most of the time the animal is alive for a good 20 minutes and then u have to get out ur switchblade and cut its throat.. on a second note there are farms where they raise deer to be killed by people.. its usually a 200 acre fenced in area where people go with there sons (for their first kill) and the deers are not even scared of humans so its just like shooting a fish in a barrel... also people hunt for sport i mean how many people say they eat black bear... people kill black bear just for the pelt alone.. although i dont agree with michael vick's situation (dudes makin millions and still has to do shit like that) i do think 12 to 18 months is a little over the top.. also if you go to a slaughter house animals such as cows and chickens are killed useing electricution.. i just dont understand how other animals its ok to kill diffrent ways but when it comes to dogs people start having a fit over it just because they are "pets"

i dont' know man when i went hunting a few years back the deer my friend's dad killed was fucking GONE. the one i killed was twitching and shit but like you said we ended him really quickly. that's the SPORT of it , killed ASAP.

of course you make some good points, but the cows and chickens getting electrecuted isnt FOR SPORT. Its for us to eat. There is a huge DIFF! I dont think the guy should be roasted over an open flame, but he deserves to be punished,thats just digusting what he did...
