Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Sued By Ruthless Records
July 27, 4 p.m. ET, Launch

Ruthless Records filed a complaint against the members of multiplatinum rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Wednesday (July 25) in the Superior Court Of The State Of California for the county of Los Angeles, claiming that the group (which includes members Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Wish Bone) has failed to deliver the six albums it is allegedly contractually obligated to record for Ruthless, and has prevented the company from profiting from the group.
In the suit filed by the record company established by the late Eazy-E and currently headed by his widow Tomica Wright, the label is requesting that Bone repay unrecouped advances; not receive any further royalties; not perform with non-Ruthless artists; record the remaining three albums in its contract; and pay exemplary and punitive damages, restitution, and attorney and suit fees. Ruthless seeks a jury trial that would determine the amount for damages.

In a 1999 interview with Krayzie, he spoke to LAUNCH about complicated artist relationships with labels. "There ain't no company an artist be signed to and be totally happy. Not totally happy," Krayzie said when explaining why Bizzy Bone had not participated in many of the promotional activities for the group's BTNHResurrection album.

The group made its national debut on Ruthless in 1994 with the release Creepin' On Ah Come Up.

I can understand Ruthless wants the last three albums recorded and wants some money for punitive damages but trying to make them perform with only Ruthless artists and take away their royalties is just ludicrous.

I guess in a way they would be getting her back for trying to sue them but then Tomica would probably sue them for dissing her saying it ruined her sex life (although she ain't got one...i think ???). But at least they'd get enjoyment from it and it would help take their minds off of their court case.
