Owen Wilson has withdrawn from the DreamWorks ensemble comedy "Tropic Thunder," Daily Variety reported today.

The 38-year-old actor was reported in good condition at Cedars-Sinai yesterday following a suicide attempt at his Santa Monica home on Sunday. He reportedly took some pills and cut a wrist.

Wilson's frequent collaborator, Ben Stiller, started shooting "Tropic Thunder" six weeks ago in Hawaii, and Wilson was scheduled to began a weeklong shoot in the next two or three weeks, the entertainment industry newspaper reported.

The movie, produced by Stiller's Red Hour Films, also stars Jack Black.

It was unclear if Wilson's role would be recast or eliminated.

DreamWorks and Wilson's publicist did not immediately comment on Wilson's reported withdrawal from "Tropic Thunder."

Wilson's publicist issued a statement Monday, asking that "the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

The New York Post reported that the attempted suicide occurred after a vicious quarrel with an unidentified friend.

^Why withdraw though? Why not delay the filiming of your scenes? Hopefully, this doesn't mean the end of Owen Wilson's movie career. :-\

word,hopefully dude can get his shit together. Zoolander,Starsky and Hutch,Wedding Crashers etc..dude had some good characters.

About Tenacious D, its a musical, its on another level , itbwas kinda different but i thought it was cool
