he is signed to a 15 song contract, no big dela, he is prolly closer with doggystyle
-
He signed to Aftermath, he produces for Doggystyle...Whats the big deal? It doesn't matter where producers are signed...Not like they release albums...

BigJake...Most of the people u named are also rappers...

Producers don't usually sign to any specific label. They sign to do a certain amount of tracks for the label, just like SMS said, he signed to a 15 track deal, he didn't sign himself to the label. This leaves him free to work with who he wants and who will pay him to lace them with tracks. The only producers I know of that signed to labels are also rappers(which is what they're signed as). This is how I think it works, I could be wrong, or there could be more to it, but this is how I understood it to be.

i remember hearing about that 15 track deal way back in the dre2001 board days so i was thinkin...does this mean any track he does for dre IE do the tracks he did for restless count because dre pretty much assigned him to it or does the 15 track deal for aftermath meanhe has to produce 15 tracks on an album that actually comes out on the aftermath label?? peace-Tanjint
-
he probably has to produce 15 tracks for aftermath that only means that if dre calls on him to produce a beat for lets say eminem he is obligated, but battlecat hasn't produced anything yet, mostly cuz dre and mel man do it all
battlecatt is also signed to a similar deal with doggystyle...it's probably a higher amount of tracks cuz snoop calls on him alot
also he's a freelance producer and producers for whoever asks for his services
-
but that didn't answer the question, if battlecat has a 15 song contract to aftermath, does it mean shit like the work he did on restless count? or does it have to be on the aftermath label?

nah, the question still hasn't been answered: when one has a 15 song contract with aftermath do the songs you do have to be on an an aftermath imprinted album (ie EMINEM SHOW) or is it just some shi that the aftermath ceo assigns you to do (IE cat's work on restless, )
?
