Does anyone else feel like the Documentary was over rated as fuck? IMO Games flow on that album was complete garbage and ruined some songs.
-

I'll agree wit ya!! The album only had good beats!! Games flow ain't too bad but I find him boring to listen too, he ain't got much to say!!
Peace
-
I agree that it's overrated, but it's still a tight album. I like DA way better though.
-
Good example: Start From Scratch
Dope beat, shit flow & voice.

for at least a near classic maybe a classic a lot of good songs

Dope beat, shit flow & voice.
The shit flow and voice may have something to do with the alcohol on that track. He was drunk off his ass on that track.

Really??
I alwayz figured that the slurry voice on that track, gave the song an added edge or gave it a character..
I dunno that's how i view it!!
it is probably one ma fave tracks on the album!!!
Along with Dreams..
But guess everybody will view the aforementioned track differently..

I remember him saying in a interview the night he recorded that, one of his homeboys died. When he came to the studio to do it, he was drunk and Dre told him to record that way. You can hear him hiccup at the beginning he was so drunk. Dre said the track would have more emotion that way.

Really? didn't know that. I still don't think this track should of been released. It's very unbearable for me.

I agree with you. It adds a lot to the track that he raps like that on there.

Whoa!!!
Yeah i heard him hiccup..and all...
And u can also hear him, drinking as well!!
Well on that note,i'll enjoy the track a lot more, cuz it has a lot of emotions, especially for the content of the lyrics of the song!!
If u Listen to the track, the third verse, it seems Game is a lil bit sober, than he was on the other two previous verses, but guess it suits the verses, cuz of the content of both them veres, compared to the third verse..just my observation..
Props on The Info D-Nice!

I think the last track I remember a artist doing drunk was that drunken freestyle 2pac did back in the day. Untouchable freestyle I think it was called.
-
OK its a good track, but c'mon im i the only one that thinks the games "drunken" flow was fake? only there for plubicity and effect?

It could be..but then again, it may be authentic, it's neither here nor there..
But i for one, think it could be the real deal!!!
Props on ya input though...

Could be, but if he is lying on a dead homeboy for effect and emotion for motivation on a track that is wack as fuck.

True!!

Now that I think about it, he was drunk on the title track with Busta Rhymes on Doctor's Advocate. Now that one came off more like a gimmick. Just the being drunk again part.
-
Start from scratch is a banger!! I personally don't believe the being drunk aspect, I mean Game could've been drinking , but he is intentionally slurring his words imo. Same as the Busta track on DA. Now on the topic of Games' flow on Documentary, Game was nice back then imo. Sick metaphors/flow/multi's etc..
On DA he's just rapping, very average like. Imo DA was wack.
-
it's got some great tracks but for the most part it is overrated
this is good shit though
Westside Story
Higher
Don't Need Your Love
The Documentary
Start From Scratch
Runnin'
Where I'm From
Like Father Like Son
-
His flow was pretty on point on that album to me.
-
Classic shit, i wish "The Documentary" would have "Westside Story" with Snoop, it was alot of doper then the 50 version.
-
I also think it's overrated but I don't like The Game so my opinion is obviously biased. But there's a few songs on his albums that I kinda like.
-
yes you probably the only one 2 say it bundy :P
lol, just playin, 2 each his own 8)
Yup, Documentary was unreallllllllll!!!
-

I'm thinking the same...
-
i think the album is dope, maybe not classic material but a cool album to listen to but Put You On The Game is a fucking classic 8)
-
the game lyrics always sound the same to me, ain't nothing change just the same shit. niggas better study the flow then they can have money to blow ;D
