Title: DJ Muggs appreciation thread
Post by: d-nice on September 11, 2007, 12:56:39 PM
God damn it, it's time for Muggs to get some props.  ;D

Easily my favorite producer, for real. Influenced alot of other producers, Alchemist, Fred Wreck, DJ Lethal. Dre gets the accolades and Muggs although very successfull, goes almost unheard of to most. Consistent, innovative, setting trends. None are like him and few can fuck with him on the beats. This Mask Vs The Assassin is insane, but Muggs was dropping heatrocks waaay before this album. Post ya thoughts, favorite tracks, anything.

Muggs is crazy & sooo underrated. I'm surprised rappers don't cop beats from him more often. My favorite beats produced by him have got to be: Xzibit - The Foundation, Roscoe - Training Day & Cypress Hill Feat. Method Man & Redman - Red, Meth & B.

One of the greatest producers ever, produced alot of dope shit. It seems that he never really get the props he deserves...
He produced for alot of muthafuckas, Cypress Hill, Soul Assassins, Ice Cube, Roscoe, Xzibit, House Of Pain, Kurupt etc...

By the way, i was checkin his C.V.: and i see a Tray Deee song called "Real Gangster"? Anybody ever heard it?

How I Could Just Kill A Man, The Phuncky Feel One, Hand On The Pump some of the first west coast songs I was exposed to were produced by Muggs, I remember that first Cypress Hill album bumping it constantly being on the East Coast it was getting crazy play out here, I liked Black Sunday even though alot of heads didn't like the dark rock production on it I thought it was dope, can't forget the House Of Pain album and numerous other west coast legends Muggs produced for, yeah he doesn't get the props he deserves for the work he has put in

Not necessarily in my top 5 or anything, but Muggs is dope without a doubt. Always dropping quality beats.

And the interludes?  :o

Muggs had some of his best beats on interludes. The beat after No Rest For The Wicked was dope. The beats on Temples Of Boom were all top notch.

Brothas Doobie-------------almost produced the whole album, one of my alltime favorites

Temples of Boom---------This album sounds AMAZING, Muggz deserves a plaque

'Drug Flippin', and 'I know' off URBAN SURVIVAL SYNDROME

Muggs also did alot on House Of Pain's 1st and 2nd album, Funkdoobiest's 1st album he only did 1 or 2 tracks but yeah he did alot more on the 2nd. The Soul Assassins crew back in the day was the shit.
