Title: THE FIXXERS on SI t.v. (a lil more info on "The Midnite Life")
Post by: Dopeisjay on September 16, 2007, 06:01:17 PM
yeah they were on it si t.v. Earlier on "the drop".. Eric cubicci who works for the show.. Was askin quik and amg some good questions.. I missed some of it.. But I did get to see like 10 min of it.. Including the performance.. But the said that they got 14 songs in right now. And that they're goin for 17. So from the looks of it.. The midnite life" should be dropping soon.. And they also named a few artist off the album.. Twista.. Yung joc.. Jim jones.. Young berg.. And they performed.. Also another thing.. Quik was on the "Top 10 celebrity countdown" on power 106.. So basicaly.. They're tryin to pump it up right now.. To create a buzz.. So good.. Hasn't yet.. Created yet.. Hopefully.. It can catch a late buzz.. But yeah.. I got a good feeelin this album is droppin soon.. Cause they're more in the public eye again..

Yeah, unfortunately.  Rud dropped the news probably about a month ago in the forum here, there was never any official press release about it, but they're definitely not there anymore.

I don't know.  I'm assuming independently or they're gonna try to shop it to another major.

All they gotta do is.. Finish this shit up.. They got 14 in they're shootin for 17.. They just need 3 more.. But u know quik aint gonna fill this shit up with fillers.. He's trying to get this album to be hot from 1-17.. That's probably the reason why its tooken so long.. But yeah get it done.. And get out start doing shows and drop another Hott!!! Single.. "Worldwide am" would be a real dope song... therefore they start buzzin again..

To me "Midnight Life" is like "Detox", I care about it less and less everyday.
Quik and AMG must be in a really bad debt now since they got Yung Joc on their album. I know that Piff Daddy isn't letting his bitches rap for free.

well ya gotta admit.. "Can u werk wit Dat" sparked some shit for Quik.. and especialy AMG.. so i mean.. everyone has there own oppinion but.. from the majority of the people thought  that the track was some hott shit.. and most of em werent even Quik fans... but it caught some attention.. also that "so good" track im feelin that shit.. but once again..everyone thinks differently.. also.. the album hasnt dropped yet.. i mean.. yeah.. i can sit up hear and say yeah man shit is gonna be fuckin hott and shit.. and than when the album drop's its trash.. same thing when people say aaahhh man this shit is trash fuck the album.. than when the album drop's they think otherwise.. i mean we shall just vwait and see.. i honestly think its gonna be hott.. but we shall see..
But u know quik aint gonna fill this shit up with fillers.. He's trying to get this album to be hot from 1-17.. That's probably the reason why its tooken so long.

I know, that's not what I meant. It is stupid to release a single when you haven't finished your album. A single is suppose to promote your album, but if it isn't complete yet, then you wasted a single. What the point of releasing it, if you don't plan on releasing the album soon after?

the first single was to create a Buzz to shop the album to major labels.. thats what "can u werk wit dat" was for.. as for the 2nd single they dropped it in order to keep it buzzin.. and when the album drop's.. a few weeks later or so.. u drop the 3rd.. and so on..
had they already been on a major label.. they would have just talked about the album droppin soon.. and than dropped the single.. and than release the album.. but that wasnt the case hear..
u gotta see the process on this album was crazy it went from being a P Funky album WestCoast shit!!!.. which was gonna have Playa hamm, 2nd II None , rob bacon , will hudspeth , domino.. and the album was originaly called "The Usual Suspects" but than things changed.. and went from that to Quik wanting to make it sound more like a wescoast/Eastcoast type thing.. than well Quik gets locked up.. than.. gets out.. and well thought.. about what he has to do to stay succesful in this buis.. and well they tweaked theyre sound to a sound that appeals to most people now a day's.. some party type club shit.. and thats how "The midnite Life" came about//

The Fixxers don't have the resourced to continuously drop singles and keep their buzz going. If they dropped the first one to get interest from the majors, they still should have completed their album by the time Can U Werk Wit Dat dropped. Either way they got the majors attention and it back fired. Now they're back to where they started. With a single that will have lost its buzz.

interesting..that wouldve been dope if the original concept stayed..thats what i wanna see a quik album full of 220, playa hamm, amg , hi-c, rob bacon etc...  although ill take a quik and amg collabo too...  but wouldve loved a whole 304 posse type album

The reason why I know all this is cause I remember durring the time when quik was gonna drop that "live at the house of blues DVD" whitch never came out.. But durring that time quik had something on his myspace.. That said.. Look out for the secret surprise... and than after that like a week or so.. He left a post.. That said somethin like " I'm connecting my mpc .. Fonky beats going at the speed of light.. And in the end he said muical einstein.. Or some thin like that.. And he said going back to the p funk.. So I got a lil info on it by askin amg.. And yeah he told me.. And than from there.. We were at a quik concert amg was there aswell and they were rockin the place and all as usual.. And than.. I remember tellin my homeboy.. "Yo dude I have a feelin thyre gonna play some new shit.. And well yeah.. That night.. U hear slink capone.. Say.. Yo check this out..  "New DJ Quik and Amg and they started playin the song.. The track was full of bass... and the mellody kind of sounded like some indian flutes or somethin.. It was dope.. And well yeah that's basicaly how I know.. but yeah that was way before.. than they wanted that eastcoast/westcoast style.. than they moved to that club.. party starter type music.. i mean i like it..
