sup yall, i listen alot to westcoast rappers like mitchy slick/crooked i/messy marv etc. thing is they spit alot bout gettin money and shit, they ridin' around in expensive cars; crooked i just bought a rolls royce phantom, but how do they get the money?? i just wanted to know couse their albums aint even hittin soundscan [not crooked off course]
no hate, i know its a stupid question but just was curious about that

Well as is life, people get things on credit so dont always assume they own an item outright, same as most people who buy a house; they get a mortgage...applies to everything you can buy these days...

Artists get money from shows, verses, appearences etc etc, theres an ARRAY of ways...Bigg Steele is a great example of a westcoast artist getting good money but he isnt ripping up soundscan; he grinds independent and tours relentlessly, dude prolly took over 500k last year...thats hella impressive and many other artists do the same and should be respected for it...

it's too bad he's gotta give up half, but if that's after taxes then that's great(well it is either way actually)

I'm not sure if he still owns it, but I know that he co-owns a jewelry store or something too. At least that's what I heard...

what about one-song artsits like ppl on ostīs?example: does danny boy (still) get paid for AEOM?CPO from sales off above the rim and murder was the case
