Props for starting this thread!

Cesc is playing like he's around 30. He's so calm, so easy, he really knows what he's doing.
Plus, he has upped his shooting and scoring game this season! :D

If he continues, he's gonna be the best in the world, yeah I said it. Forget Ronaldinho ;D

TOP OF THE LEAGUE

C. Ronaldo was the best, like 6 months ago.

Right now Fab > C.Ron

Right now Fab > C.Ron
my problem is the "right now" is literally based on 3-4 games :-\

if that's the case adebayor >>> fabregas "right now" because he scored 3 goals today (hint: i don't believe that)

I wouldn't even agree with that.

Fab >>> Adebayor considering he has like 3/4 goals in the last 5 for a box-to-box mid.

Based on the last game Adebayor >>> Fab. Lol.

^But u can't say Adebayor > Cesc just cause he has scored much lately. (That's like saying Nistelrooy is in a top 20 players cuz he scores alot of goals - He's a box player only.)
Who's the brain behind most of Arsenal's goals. Fabregas ofcourse. But Damn, Adebayor has suprised me ! Let's hope he continues and that Eduardo settles in for real - lethal..

Yeah right, 2 years from right now Ronaldinho was the best ever, now he's a piece of shit, 15 months from now C. Ronaldo was a primadonna faggot, 8 months from now C. Ronaldo was the best, now he's a sucker. The top comes and goes. Fabregas is good as he is, but to call him a  better player than C. Ronaldo or Ronaldinho is absurd imo. Now this was quite off-topic, but I just had to express my feelings.

Actually i said he's the best MIDFIELDER in the world. Here in Italy we mean central midfielder (it's called "volante" in South America, "playmaker" in the GB, "regista" here in Italy, you know the role..). C.Ronaldo, Kakŕ, Ronaldinho etc.. are different players, to me, with different roles. They play in attack or on the side.

Don't trip ese. By my understanding Midfielder was everything that doesn't defend or strike. But I know what you mean. It's all good nigga.

^ I thought Ronaldinho and Kaká were playmakers?

Ok. Once and for all. :)
It depends from the way teams usually play in their own Country.

Here in Italy we usually play like that

GK
RB CB CB LB
RM CM DM LM
ST FC

We call the yellow role "Regista" (it's playmaker in english). He's a central midfielder, who defends too.

--

We call this role "Trequartista" (it's what you usually call "Playmaker")

GK
RB CB CB LB
CM DM CM
PL
ST FC

--

To me Ronaldinho and Kakŕ are "trequartista", while Fabregas is a "regista". :)

Let's say Fabregas is a MIDFIELDER and Ronaldinho and Kakŕ are OFFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS :)

Fab = Box-to-box mid. Or as Antonio said you can just call them a "centre mid".

Kaka/Ronny = Offensive or "attacking" mid.

Fab does it all like Vieira back in the day. Or like Stevie Gerrard does now.

Do you see Kaka/Ronny chasing people back, hunting for possession etc? Nope.

Hopefully that helps identify the difference.

I get what u are saying man. I know he's a box to box player, I know my team ;)
But think about it, what if he had a Gattuso/Pirlo on the team, then he probably had no defensive responsebilities, and he'd 100% offensive. that'd be dope

Im a huge Arsenal fan, have been all my life, and even i don't think Fab is the best player in the world atm, but i don't see how u can say rite C. Ronaldo was amazing for 2/3 of last season, but has been shit ever since but hes the best player in the world....atm hes average back to the same old player he was previous to last season, so what if he makes the 1 decisive pass in a match where he does shit else, Cesc y'day had like 2 assists and scored.....also Cescs scored 7 this season so far from CM, and ronaldo scored all of his goals last season from the Wing or playing in like a roaming striker role, also he doesnt play box to box like cesc and in no way is he as good a passer as cesc, the only thing that makes ronaldo good is his pace......and this is y Cesc is the complete player, he has little pace but even so hes good at tackling (esp. if u consider his height), amazing passer, has out of this world vision, take free kicks, header and can shoot.......

Hes not the best in the world atm, but hes up there with Kaka, Gerrard and may i mention Sneijder whos completely carrying the Real Madrid side atm.....

I must admit h/w that im waiting for Cescs form to end, becos that'll be the true test of how strong my beloved arsenal team is compared with United, Liverpool and well Chelsea for the time being (they'll be gone soon, once Abramovich leaves)....

That is one way of looking at it but he has is fantastic at the defensive side of his game so why would you want to transform him into a one-dimensional player when a box-to-box mid is more rare and better to have.

Plus you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to attacking mids at arsenal. :o

Never thought of it like that, I agree.
Center midfielders, but Hleb and Rosicky can play as OM.

He has Flamini, who does the dirty works. And he's attacking more, this year.
