Mesa, Arizona - Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has pleaded guilty to charges of drug possession and driving under the influence.
This stems from an incident last year when Tyson was stopped at a traffic light after leaving a nightclub.
Tyson quietly acknowledged to a judge that he had cocaine and was impaired when he was stopped for driving erratically in Scottsdale, Arizona, on December 29.
He pleaded guilty yesterday to a single felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanour driving under the influence (DUI) count and faces up to four years and three months in prison when he is sentenced on November 19.
A felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a second misdemeanour DUI charge were dropped.
Defence lawyer David Chesnoff said Tyson has been clean and sober for eight months.
"It's obvious this was a crime he was committing against himself," Chesnoff remarked.
Authorities said they found bags of cocaine in Tyson's pocket and in his car. - Sapa-AP

It's a victim less crime. People should only go to prison or jail if they are harmful to others. Shoving someone in prison for what they want to put in their own body doesn't make sense to me. By the way, it's not free, it's our tax dollars that pay to keep Tyson in prison, so I don't know why everyone acts so happy about seeing celebs in prison.
End the War On Drugs. Vote Ron Paul 08'
...btw, FREE MIKE TYSON!
