In your opinion, what has been the best beat we have gotten from DJ Quik in the last 5 years?
For me, hands down, the best beat has been the one he just realized on Yung Joc's new album called "Cut Throat".
What about you?

Most innovative- Rampart Division
Most Gangsta- Trouble, Loyal 2 The Game
Smoothest- Black Mercedes & Indiscretions In The Back Of The Limo
Hard to say. There are a handful of beats in that time frame I like from him.

The track he did on knoc's album
-
Yeah that shit on Joc's album was damn near perfect

Which track was that homie?

"Love Slave". Nate Dogg was supposed to be on the hook but I don't know what went wrong with that.
But IMO, "Black Mercedes" is the best. Sounds like vintage Quik.

Damm, I've never heard Rampart division or Love slave.
I think I'd definitely say "Black Mercedez" though. I think "Get loaded" was one of his slept on tracks from Under the influence. "John doe" was great too....we bumped that hard in 03...and speaking of 03, he had a grip of good work back then, such as what he did for Hi-C's album. "The talk" was hard as hell...damn I need that sound back.

Rampart Division is off of X's last album iirc. Yeah that beat is hard as fuck!

Oh shiet you just reminded me, that track he did with Hi-C "Let Me Know" was definitely one of his best!

DAMN, i didn't know that :o he would of wrecked that shit 8)

Last five years, so that means only one Quik solo (Trauma) is included...
I'd say:
Talib Kweli & Quik - Put It In The Air
Hi-C - Do It (8 minutes of pure funk)
Indiscretions In The Back Of The Limo

"John Doe" is such a bangin track. Gonna throw that Shade Sheist album in the ride for the drive to work tomorrow :)
