Composer of the soundtracks for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Schindler's list, E.T., Indiana Jones, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Cowboys, and alot more.
He conducted the Thornton Symphony Orchestra in a performance of most of his most famous works.
He debuted a new horn concerto he wrote, but most dopely he did the Imperial March, Yoda's Theme, and Main theme from Star Wars.
this shit was fucking dope. the man is a genius and I'm glad I got to see him conduct an orchestra in doing his works before he died.
His new concerto was all right, it had no real memorable melodies but he did some cool textured stuff with drums and bass. It was pretty percussive.

You're talking about Howard Shore, I believe. But he doesn't compare to John Williams, IMO. I mean come on... you're talking about a guy who's not only composed the Star Wars and Harry Potter themes (among other great themes) but has also composed every Steven Spielberg (another legend) film but one. As you may already know, Spielberg's resume includes JAWS, Close Encounters of The Third Kind, The Indiana Jones Trilogy (soon to be a fourth), the first two Jurassic Park films, Schindler's List, E.T., Saving Private Ryan among other greats!
-
Are you serious? Shit, I just saw John Williams on RTL4! He's that negro.

Speaking of John Williams anybody got the track where Divine Styler sample the Cantina Band theme?
or the two first albums for that matter?
I got it on tapes, but would like it in CDQ.
Divine Styler
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_Styler
Divine Styler (born Marc Richardson, 1968) is an alternative hip hop artist from Brooklyn, New York.
He first emerged as part of Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate. His first LP, Word Power, was hailed by critics and fans, but was not a commercial success. His second album, the wildly experimental Spiral Walls Containing Autumns of Light, also failed to sell well. In 1998, Divine Styler hooked up with the Quannum posse, teaming up with his dear friend and fellow Rhyme Syndicate alumni Everlast, Styles of Beyond and the Beat Junkies. The Beat Junkies' DJ Rhettmatic also appeared, on his third LP, Wordpower, Vol. 2: Directrix (Featuring Exceed), which trafficked in Information Age paranoia.
Divine Styler is a convert to Sunni Islam after a number of years spent in the Faradian Islam offshoot known as Nation of Gods and Earths; he influenced the decision of Everlast to become a Muslim. Many of the songs on Spiral Walls Containing Autums of Light are songs of praise to Allah, and the 1999 song "Make It Plain" (recorded for the Funky Precedent compilation) details the joy he feels at having finally found a way of life he loves after decades of uncertainty and woes.
Aside from those major albums his tracks are scattered among other artists' albums and projects. He has done several tracks with John Tejada but they're scattered on several compilations and albums by Tejada. He appeared (along with Sadat X and Cockni O'Dire) on several tracks on the final House of Pain album, Truth Crushed To Earth Shall Rise Again. His most recent work has been with Len, Swollen Members and DJ Shadow.
