Just got the word that former Death Row artist Eastwood, who for the past 2 years has been signed to upstart label Jaded Entertainment, is now off of the label and is a free agent!
According to Eastwood's manager Jazzy D, the two sides negotiated his release from the label after previous agreements to release his album this year had fallen through. The label was contractually bound to release his album within a certain period of time.
Eastwood walked away without owing anything despite the label spending an estimated $800,000 on the artist, according to Jazzy D.
No word has been given about what will happen to the music that was recorded during his time at Jaded Entertainment, but we do know that Eastwood and Jazzy Management are entertaining new offers and deals.

LOL!!!

$800,000?! No offence to Eastwood, the man is talented, but I don't see that kind of money being spent on him...especially not on an indie!

Crooked I might consider getting such a contract as well next time around ;)
-
Thank God he didnt get a Tatoo of Jaded Ent like some other rappers do. ;D Ahem.....Elevator mean muggin gangsta

eastwood on bws? that would be dope!
-
didn't see this coming.
-
Ahh man... This is kind of upsetting to me. I was really looking forward to seeing the Eastwood project dropping. Looks like it might end up being a lot of work down the drain.
I mean, dude has to do what he has to do though, if they were giving him the run around, at least he took matters into his own hands and moved on.
-
great, even longer wait for his album ::)
-
What's wrong with these labels out on the West Coast giving heavy hitters like Eastwood and Crook the run around... it's getting sickening.
-
I think he needs to go back to BWS
-
great, even longer wait for his album ::)
hope we dont wait longer cause we need that eastwood album!!!

I hope this doesn't mean Tristar's album will be delayed too.

I wouldn't hold your breath... It sucks too because Jaded seemed like they had their act together, I guess some nice flash designs and web sites can really decieve people.
-
with the exposure he has right now, he should just release an internet album.
that "West Really" track is still in my mix.
-
he own the masters to the music he recorded at Jaded?

If he does'nt then that sucks cause he did some nice tracks on Jaded Ent
-
I don't believe he does, but walking away scott-free from an $800,000 recoup situation is amazing in itself...
-
eastwood's signing to the inc west.
Would be dope and good for him to get more exposure. Isn't he featured on The Mirror?
great, even longer wait for his album ::)

HE WILL BE SIGNING WITH "MPIRE MUSIC GROUP" - IRV GOTTI'S LABEL
-

It'd be nice if Mpire could hook up Crook too considering his label ain't doing shit...
-
I don't think Irv will give him the proper push either, but more power to him and best of luck.
-
Being with Irv would be an interesting situation... I've been watching that reality show of his. He just might be able to make hits again.

That's what I'm saying...
I mean look, say what you want about the reputation of Murder Inc, Ja Rule, Irv Gotti, etc... AT LEAST they release albums. Sure, you can mention the failed careers (in my eyes) of Cadillac Tah and the other dudes they rolled with, but at least they make SOME kind of moves over there. Not to mention, they have been able to produce DECENT record sales even after so much scrutiny.
I have faith in Irv and his team despite the fact that they are not considered "what's cool" anymore. However, I think their image fits the west coast perfectly and it would be great to see them opening up the doors to Cali acts that normally wouldn't get the attention they deserve.

Yeah.. I am cool with it should that happen.... but I will withdraw my support should I hear anything remotely like "When I Cry, We Cry Together." :)
