Title: Who liked terrorist threats and why
Post by: MontrealCity's Most on November 09, 2007, 01:34:39 PM
I was sp hyped for this record. Bow down was my favorite hip hop record since 96.
Then i heard this and was so disapointed. I can honestly say ive bumped ot no more then 10 times.
Whats youre feel on it?

love the album, and will still bump it from time to time
i like it because, to me, that was the return of ice cube straight SPITTING
his lyrics on this are ridiculous, track to track..he don't drop even an average verse on this
production was great on it as well, and the guests were great (nate, butch, knoc all KILLED the chorus' they did)

i think the only problem with the album, is for the most part part WC & Mack 10 didn't bring there A game..especially WC, i remember being extremely let down with his lyrical game on this album

Me personaly i dint like the beats and i dint like some of the hooks, like Gansgtas in love and some otehr songs i cant rememebr right now. Wc dint infact bring his a game, he had no tongue twisting rhymes

gangsta nation is do dope, it's crazy
well no disrespect to MC Eiht, but he was wrong there
bow down was made in a time when everyone & they momma was hating on the west coast (especially n.y like them reporters & critics) so they did what they had to do to defend the west, plain & simple
on terrorist threats that really wasn't an issue no more..sure the west wasn't "big" or anything, but NOT because N.y & critics were hating, but for other reasons

when bow down was made, they identified that as the problem & addressed it
on terrorist threats they identified other problems & addressed them as well (so many rappers in love, double murder = double plat. etc.)

I liked it. Even though Bow Down is much better than Terrorist Threats, I still like TT a lot. The tracks "Get Ignit", "Lights Out", & "Terrorist Threats" are the shit. 8)

I liked the album, I thought it was 4/5. It had a couple of unnecessary tracks that I wasnt feelin, but it had a lot of dope songs, You gotta have heart, Potential victimes, Get Ignit, Call 9-1-1, and Gangsta Nations, which for some reason some people dont like, not sure why.

I think a big reason why some dont like this album is because of the album that preceded it, they set a standard that was unrealistic to match. I remember in '03 when this was about to drop you had dudes talkin like we were gonna see Bown Down 2. Even if they were able to come with music that was on the level of Bow Down, the rap atmosphere was so different in '96, you couldnt duplicate the purpose and force of that album.

Come on, it's a good album.  The only people that didn't like it are those that set their expectations too high.  I don't know why you guys are complaning with WC's performance on the album either, he killed every track.

Good Album!! for some reasons i thought it was a bit forced..we cant really compare it to their first album...2 diferent meanings, 2 different eras, and 2 different vibes

Loved it. More of a uptempo and party album then BD. BD had a agenda, TT was just more light hearted but still gangsta. There are a couple of tracks the hooks were horrible on there, but the beats were bangin and it was on its way to platinum plus before the infamous Mack 10/Ice Cube beef.

My thoughts exactly. I think overall it was a great album (except maybe 3 or 4 tracks) and I loved everyone's performances on it, especially WC.

This album is so different than anything coming out these days. It sounded not mainstream influenced, most of the production was great.

By the way WC had the best verse of the album on the title song (just listen to it and try to say that it's not dope)

WC did kill that track...but imo Cube's verse on Call 911 was easily the best, it blew me away when i first heard it.

i love it! But you have to think about how different 96 and 03 are, rapwise.. I put on bow down when i want that raw shit, and when i feel like listening to some bangin beats, i put on TT.
