Title: B.G. Knocc Out & Dre'sta - Real Brothas
Post by: Tha G In Deee on November 09, 2007, 09:44:46 PM
What's everyone's thoughts on this album? Personally this is one of my favorites up there with Foesum's Perfection, The Twinz' Conversation, & Domino's self-titled album from 1993 as dope underrated west coast albums. "Jealousy", "Everyday Allday", & "Compton Swangin" are my favorites cuts from it; it's a shame it couldn't have blown up more when it came out but it is what it is. "DPG Killa" was a dope track too, but it's a shame DPG/Death Row & them & Ruthless had to go at it with their beefs, they could've made some dope tracks together back then. 8)

^Real talk. It's like people always mention Warren G, Eazy, Snoop, etc. which is cool. But what about Twinz, The Dove Shack, Dre'sta & B.G. Knocc Out, Domino, Foesum, Lil' 1/2 Dead, Above the Law, South Central Cartel, etc. who were making music as good, if not better, than them. Just my two cents.

This album is a fuckin classic man, the tracks real brothaz, compton & watts, god damn lol!!!
^Damn I forgot about Compton & Watts, I just started bumpin' the album again. Also that track "Life's A Puzzle"...damn, now there's a good example of how you make some DOPE SMOOTH ASS MUSIC. 8)

Yeah it's a great record, 'Life's A Puzzle" and "Jealousy" are favourites of mine, but the album is filled with nice cuts.
It's an album I can listen to whenever and never feel tired with it, great replay value.

It's difficult for me to pick out my favorite tracks, seeing as how I can listen to almost the entire thing without skipping a song, but I guess my top several would be as follows (not necessarily in this order)

1. Compton and Watts
2. Take a Ride
3. D.P.G./Killa
4. Everyday Allday
5. Down Goes Another
6. Mic Check
7. Real Brothas

I enjoy this album. Favorite track is the 1st one, Everyday Allday. Overall this album is pretty good, but some of the tracks don't really stand out to me.
