Title: What if Biggie was alive...
Post by: Big FC on July 08, 2001, 10:14:15 PM
now if Pac hadn't died thats one thing and yea he proly woulda done more movies, yadda yadda yadda, but this is a what if biggie hadn't been killed.. this doesnt really hav to do with what music he would have made or advancments but what kind of impact would such a tilt in the coastal talent have.. i mean i remember it very well... regardless of east-west beef we had our pride and joy, pac and they had their biggie.. that is such a huge tilt in the east coasts favor that the whole industry might be different.. now this is my personal belief.. if biggie hadn't died, i think the westcoast as a whole would've been more aggressive and it would've created an enviroment that would stop mourning pac's death quickly and look for (if not create) a successor to the throne.. but because such a huge void was left in the market after big 'n pac's deaths, the westcoast slackered off while the more businesslike east regained control of the majority of the market.. basically im saying, if biggie had't died, the west would've risen/remained at the top because of a need to compete...

We all know that Pac would have gone in several directions...

I don't think that Biggie would do something like that, maybe a couple of movies, but it seemed that Biggie was all about the music...

(or yea, and Puffy wouldn't have been shit, he wouldn't be able to feed off Biggie and launch his carrer)

thats a good post FC, it did seem the West was kinda slow in putting out hot music after Pac and Big died. but nevertheless in early 98 when they finally did start putting out good shit again (Daz, WC, etc) nobody was checkin for it anymore. So the market changed.

Perhaps if Big hadnt of died Puff wouldnt have been able to start that horrific pop rap era which fucked up the game for a couple years, and real music could of still got love.

I agree, it seems as if alot of rappers got blood on the teeth after seeing Puff's success with pop.

peace

There would have been no eastcoast rising the way it happened. Biggies death scared the shit outta everyone, expecially the west. Snoop wouldn't have left Death Row, because the deaths of Biggie and 'Pac is what scared him. Dr. Dre would have tries to work with Biggie, don't believe, he may not like Puffy, but Dre does respect Bad Boy. Ma$e wouldn't have blown up like he did, because Bad Boy would still center around Biggie. The Lox would have never left Bad Boy, and with Shyne and Black Rob, Bad Boy would still be on top today. Not just of the east, but with everybody. The Outlawz would still beef with Biggie, claiming he had 'Pac killed or something to that affect. But Biggie was killed. Puffy used Biggies murder to get on top for a little while, but Bad Boy would have been on top longer with Biggie, Black Rob, Shyne, The Lox, Ma$e and their R&B acts. Tell me Roc-A-Fella is better than that roster. Or Ruff Ryder for that matter. Oh yeah, and Biggie and Lil' Kim would have been married.
