Lakers’ Brown Sidelined Indefinitely by Ligament Injury (http://www.nba.com/nba_news/kbrown_injury_071120.html)

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20 (AP) -- Los Angeles Lakers center Kwame Brown will be sidelined indefinitely with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
Lakers spokesman John Black said an MRI on Monday revealed the extent of the injury.
Brown was hurt early in the Lakers' 106-78 victory over Chicago on Sunday.
He will not make the team's upcoming three-game road trip, and is scheduled to be reevaluated in about a week.
The Lakers have depth at center with Chris Mihm and Andrew Bynum, and Ronny Turiaf also can play the position.
Brown injured his knee and also mildly sprained his left ankle when Bulls center Ben Wallace fell into him under the Los Angeles basket with 8:18 left in the opening period.
Brown was averaging 4.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in his first six games this season.
Doesn't sound too good...There goes our primary post defense. >:(

what a bust
-
Dude might be a bust as far as his superstar potential, being a number 1 pick and all, but he is still one of the best low-post defenders in the league...PeACe

Oh no how will we survive against a guy who averages 5 dropped passes per quarter?

worst hands in the league

Dude, you are such a fucking moron that it amazes me...Kwame anchors our low-post defense. He's able to contain players like Yao, Dwight, Duncan, Amare, and all the rest of the premier bigs WAY better than anyone else on our team. He's vital to the squad...I wish you were a little more intelligent basketball-wise so that we could have some more in depth discussions in this section...PeACe

this is a bad news on the defensive end .. hopefully Ronnie will be in shape concerning the 4th spot .. I don't want Cook to play lots of minutes ... start Mihm and keep bring Andrew off the bench

Yeah he plays great defense...every 5-6 games. Fuck outta here with this anchor shiet. If he's such a good anchor then why does he get bullied by PGs and SGs? If I was in the NBA I'd slash into the paint all night too if Kwame Brown was the "anchor" lol.

Damn... good thing we have some extra bodies though. Kwame' may not be the star that he is supposed to be, but it's never good to lose a big body.
-
he's an offensive liability

You're out of touch with shit... you're blaiming pg and sg penetration on Kwame? LOL! Kwame is a top low-post defender in the league. He can body up ANYONE and keeps himself in front of the opposing player like no other. Don't you notice how the lanes open up when Kwame is out of the game? When you watch the games, do you actually see what's going on, or do you just see the ball going through the hoop?...PeACe

he's alright
never good to lose a big man just like styles said

Damn, looks like the Lakers are going from bad to......bad...

^ huh? beating utah houston and phoenix is bad? lol.

he's an offensive liability
That is a understatement LOL

Some need to watch more Lakers games ... Kwame is very important defensive wise :
1) can guard one on one the best C/PF in the game
2) he actually does a good job at protecting the rim even if it's not a very good shot blocker ... he knows (and due to his big body) where to be on the floor to limit the penetration of the opposite guards ... since he's injured opposite players got positions under the basket at will ... without mentioning Mihm get abused one on one by ALL bigs
3) Kwame knows how to box out ... since Chicago game , it's horrible how the opposite team got second or third chances.
