aright i'm listening to some old jackson 5 songs and ya know i'm diggin' it.....now back in the day they were the equivalant to the backstreet boys, big pop boy band, now my question is back in the day it wasn't really cool for a dude to listen to jackson 5 music but every now is considered uncultured if they don't know these tunes, will this be the same for our children, will men be listening to old backstreet boys tunes????
i know the jackson 5 was much more talented but even pop music from the 50's is ok to listen to and hard core punk rock acts grew up on that, this is scary if all these boy bands do the same thing as what older pop groups have done

im waiting for the day when youngsters tell me rap is old and im not 'with it' anymore LOL
but for real that was an interesting question. personally i think the jacksons music had sumthin special that most other pop music doesnt, sumthin timeless almost. and i think the wackstreet boys and n stync are just fads like new kids on the block. theyll eventually die out and be replaced by 5 more fag lookin hobos

Only time will truly tell. BSB and N Sync have had 3 years of success now. That's one more than NKOTB. Maybe they'll evolve. Boyz 2 Men are respected. But when they came out, they had a small Boy Band persona in a way. They just evolved in 2 seconds beyond that. Look at the MotownPhilly episode. It wasn't pop, but it had the feeling of a New Edition video. Isn't early New Edition considred a Boy Band too? Maybe these groups will evolve more into a respectable singing group in more people's eyes. Stranger things have happened.

My uncle used to listen to Jackson 5 when he was my age. He even won a talent show when he lipsynced one of their songs. To tell you the truth I have never ever liked the Jackson 5's songs. Its just me.
And I doubt BSB and N sync will be as remembered as Jackson 5. Those boy bands were put together by producers and managers and shit. The Jackson 5 was different. They were a family but a group at the same time. That is something special. Plus they got more talent in one hair on top of their head than any of those new pop boy bands got in there entire body.
Trust me as a old guy I will be listening to R&B, Jazz and blues, not those boy bands.

I remember my younger cousin said rap music was old and that rock is forever. Now his the second biggest hip-hop head in our family, second to me. As for when I'm older, I don't know, I already listen to older rap more than today's stuff. Pure gangsta rap, and G-Funk. Rap now seem to all sound the same, and R&B is all a bunch of wannabe Dru Hills. I'm beginning to listen to more old school already, and I'm only 20!!!
