Kings F Abdur-Rahim likely done
December 8, 2007
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) -- Sacramento Kings forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim will likely miss the rest of the season following arthroscopic surgery, according to the Sacramento Bee.
A 12th-year veteran, Abdur-Rahim had bone spurs and joint lining removed on his right knee - his second procedure in less than six months - at the UC Davis Medical Center on Friday.
"This has been personally and emotionally frustrating not being able to help my teammates," Abdur-Rahim told the Bee. "However, we all have different challenges in life and this one is mine. God willing, I can find a way to still contribute and help my teammates while I work to get healthy."
Abdur-Rahim averaged just 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in six games this season. He has career averages of 18.1 points and 7.5 boards in between stops at Vancouver, Atlanta, Portland and Sacramento.
